I think of us as the canaries in a coal mine. Miners carried canaries (yellow birds) in cages. They are more sensitive to carbon monoxide than humans. If the canary died, the miner had knew that the air was poisoned and could escape. If trans people are safe, it’s safe for everyone.
A sacrificial anode is used on steel ships. To prevent corrosion, the sacrificial anode erodes rather than the ship. They are replaced when done.

For some in the LGBT movement, Trans people serve the same purpose, our rights are eroded, to save theirs.

There are no replacements for us. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

GenderGP were welcoming and wonderfully helpful when I needed them. Yes, they can be criticised but without them I might not have made it.

Hey Wes,
Your Puberty Blocker trial's already been done, countless times, by people not associated with TERF groups like SEGM

70% reduction in trans kids' suicide rates alone
We know the PB ban has killed kids

Nov 2025 @rikiwilchins.bsky.social -- Groundbreaking study in journal Pediatrics found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 (1.6%) discontinuing treatment only 4 of whom re-identified as cisgender.

The rush to ban puberty blockers for trans kids is so that having gone through an inappropriate puberty, they look “trans” for the rest of their lives. So they are easily identifiable.

Tell me I’m wrong‼️

Encouraging the policing of public spaces based on appearance and gender stereotypes is no way for a human rights regulator to behave.

The EHRC’s proposed Code of Practice is a misogynist’s charter, and the government must reject it.

At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, if you want to know whether someone is a decent human being, look at their position on trans people’s access to equality and health care. It’s that simple. These people all fail that test.
They all need to go - Starmer, Mahmood, Phillipson, Reeves, Streeting.

If you want to know whether someone respects human rights, ask them where they stand on trans rights.
Scratch a transphobe, find a xenophobe.

In the midst of the continual meddling of Trump into foreign countries’ governments, I recall the outcry in 2016 when Obama politely said that he preferred that the UK remain in the EU.
I believe that Starmer would have the support of most UK people if he told Trump firmly to back off the BBC.

This is an astonishing analysis of the perfidity of the authors of the puberty blocker ban.

It’s also worth remembering that puberty blockers are themselves a compromise solution to ensure that trans kids get time to think and be sure. They’re safe and reversible.

The new right wants to burn the BBC because it’s the one news outlet they can’t buy. Although I detest the “it’s not perfect but” milquetoast defence, the BBC with all its imperfections is worth defending as a bulwark against the far-right takeover of the media. Please will the government step up.
Revealing division in my timeline between (1) my insider friends who have lived privileged lives who are very keen that we defend the BBC and think it's important it survives and (2) my outsider friends who feel (at best) ambivalent about the BBC's survival.

Once Coe was IOC President this was inevitable, sadly.
The Olympics had allowed trans women to compete since the 2004 games.

Out of 10s of thousands of competitors, only one trans woman ever qualified. She came last.

Zero medals. Zero.

Zero.

Yet the far right has convinced elites they were dominating.
