Yeah, and there’s a lot of ”pro” tools that allow posting across many legacy platforms at once. I wonder what point follow numbers finally don’t matter?

Related, I wonder how changes in follower numbers match ticketing trends, but I doubt the NWSL or teams are really getting into any data science.🤷🏻‍♂️

I’d say we all should harass our favorite teams and the #NWSL itself to get off X for good, but they won’t. Nevermind the whole “supporting women” narrative they keep pushing.

Then again, if all the past transgressions didn’t make people and organizations leave it, they never will.

Journalist Tamerra Griffin was spot on in noting that media rankings of athletes can reflect biases, not just performance (see attached quote from The Athletic Full Time podcast). The conversation was about the NWSL High Impact Player rule, where criteria for HIP designation include media rankings.

I know she works at the pleasure of the owners, but I swear I’d probably be the most annoying commissioner—basically selling the on-field product in public just as my friends are probably sick of hearing about it from me now. Oh, and focusing on how even on TV, so often it’s *fun* #NWSL

I find Berman’s comments worrisome. Growing the league focuses on hooking the next generation on content and betting rather than getting them to play the game. Does betting actually create fans or just focus attention on the league superficially, as people chance dopamine in the form of parlays?

What we thought would be the best and most relaxing off season filled with soaking in the holidays with our newborn and our families turned into a stress ball of breaking our lease of the apartment we just moved into 6 months ago, searching for a moving company, looking to ship our car that we just bought to have in SD, making our last pediatrician and vet appointments for when we are back in SD to pack up our lives, booking flights back to SD for Skyler's very important cardiologist and vascular ring clinic appointments that we've had scheduled and have been waiting to have since she was born, doing virtual tours of new apartments in a new city, finding somewhere to live until our moving truck will arrive, and so much more... Also hard thinking about saying goodbye to the life and place we have built over the last 4 years and starting so new. But 1 am so thankful for my strong ass wile who was dealing with so much yet was the one who has kept it together for our family and who has kept my postpartum self sane. And a huge thank you to our family and closest friends for your endless support the last couple weeks
