I'm going to bang this drum yet again:

If your great white hope is adding to the existential threats faced by a marginalized group and members of that group tell you they will not support someone who makes them less safe, *you personally* are a threat to them when you scream about their disloyalty.

"I don't mind when bigoted jokes are leveraged against people I think are horrible."

Okay, but you do understand you've just communicated that your willingness to oppose bigotry becomes negotiable if you dislike the target? You see how that makes you sound completely unsafe to others, right? Right?

The fact that the thing we're calling artificial intelligence *can't do math* and yet we're jamming it into programs that successfully *have done math* for decades, then warning people against using the AI to do math, seems like an excellent summary of where we are.

You ‘run the gamut’ and ‘run the gauntlet.’

You don’t ‘run the gambit.’

gamut = entire range or series

gauntlet = severe trial

Gambit = Alpha-level mutant who can convert potential energy to kinetic energy

I think characters like Doctor Who and Captain America and Superman and James Bond and Indiana Jones are so fascinating because each is an idealized avatar of a particular cultural identity and when we talk about what they can and can't "be" we are inevitably discussing the heart of that identity.

If VPNs are such an obvious massive loophole, why didn't you put this in the law originally? Could it be possible you're all so tech illiterate you didn't realise everyone would just get a VPN?

And if so, should you be let anywhere near an online safety law?
