Exactly what we were saying.

If they lie so brazenly when they know there is evidence that proves the truth AND when they know we know the truth, imagine how they lie when there is no such objective, independent evidence.
“Imagine how they lie when there’s no evidence to contradict them.”

I fear this is significant. Fico, a fool and Trump defender, has seen the truth about Trump; the scales have dropped from his eyes; he's had to abandon his comforting delusions.

There are moments in our lives when an awful, ugly truth that we've long avoided rears up and thrusts itself in our face.
Slovakia’s prime minister, an ally of Donald Trump, reportedly told other EU leaders that he was left shocked following a recent meeting with the US leader, with concerns about his state of mind.

It is insane, in a country with its policy aim to decarbonate, that (cleaner) electricity is charged to the consumer at 4 times the price of dirty, inefficient gas.

As long as this is the case the incentive to install efficient heat pumps is wiped out.
66% of recent increases in UK energy bills has come from wholesale gas prices, say @ukerc.bsky.social - 17% from grid charges, 13% from extra policy costs

Despite gas accounting for 1/3 of generation, its price drives cost of electricity up to 90% of the time

Wholesale gas costs blamed for rises in household energy bills
Energy prices have eased since the height of the energy crisis in 2022-23 but pressure is still on the Government to tackle high bills

The kind of spontaneous civic resistance we are seeing in Minneapolis is heartwarming and inspiring. It reminds me of the qualities I love in my American friends: strong ethics, humour, kindness, and mature and responsible citizenship. So, so admirable. ❤️

People are right to be incensed, but there are more names to uplift. ICE killed an immigrant man named Silverio Villegas González in Chicagoland. He had children. Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped in Minneapolis and died in ICE custody on January 14. Their names deserve to be repeated, too.

This is a truly disgraceful instance of interference in a woman's fundamental right to life by the imposition by idiots of their own religious beliefs.

It's hardly worth pointing out that in both these cases, the baby whose life they think God wanted them to save, died along with its mother.
Tierra Walker knew that abortion was illegal in Texas, but she thought that hospitals could make an exception for patients like her, whose health was clearly on the line.

At 20 weeks pregnant, she died of preeclampsia.
Women With High-Risk Pregnancies Have Limited Options Under Abortion Bans
Our reporting has found that abortion bans generally don’t include exceptions that cover health concerns pregnant women with chronic conditions can face — or if they do, doctors aren’t using them.

It is incumbent on every single decent-minded, responsible British citizen to do *everything* they can to prevent Farage from gaining power. It couldn’t matter more for the future wellbeing of our country. Him as PM is too grotesque for words. Trump is a genuinely comparable case study.

Working closely with our European allies is even more important in the circumstances and Starmer SHOULD be banging that point home pretty relentlessly.

Trump is likely to see this positioning of Starmer’s as weakness to be exploited….not as “friendship”.
