IMO the advantage to bringing new players into D&D (as happened in 2020) is that five years later a portion of them get bored with D&D and go... oh, there are other games besides D&D?
Flip side: There is ZERO reason you can't introduce new players to TTRPGs using Lasers & Feelings or Honey Heist.
A corollary to "please talk about indie games you like on social media" is: "Virtually all games are indie games." D&D and Catan probably don't need your marketing boost, but you can assume almost everything in the games hobby does and, honestly, creating new D&D and Catan players doesn't hurt.

INT. NIGHT. The local curling club. Time for the coin toss.

Me: *pulls out a Canadian dollar* Ok so this side is heads and over here we got a duck so that's tails.
Teammate: A duck! A duck! Ok, you Americans, alright.
Me: Listen I'm not the one who put a duck on their money.

We won anyhow.

Nate has a terrific line-up of fonts and you should pay him for them. 👇
That's a wrap for me in the studio. I'm taking a break from Thursday to Sunday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Hope you have a great turkey day if you celebrate. Don't forget, Blambot's biggest sale of the year starts on Cyber Monday, Dec. 1st! 25% off! Catch you on the flip side.

From the Days of Mana specials in Nintendo Power: Katsuya Terada's visions of the world of The Secret of Mana, which, like their illustrations for Link's Awakening, lend the game a darker, more mature vibe akin to the artwork you might see in a Wizardry game.

The holidays can be so hard! Especially if you are going into your first sober holiday, have a little plan for a fancy drink you can have on hand, like bundaberg or fentimans or something like that. it makes SUCH a difference.
it's almost thanksgiving

if you quit drinking – sometimes it's tough at the holidays

you know this. but you can remember that a lot of other people are in your boat. and you probably know one or two of them. and if you need help or support, please reach out to one of them / us. it's ok, truly

Had three great shots at curling last night. According to my understanding of the system, I'm now eligible to run for MP of a small riding in Alberta.

We don't have to pretend that James Carville is the herald of a new era in democratic politics. Any jackass who watched Mamdani work over the president on affordability last Friday could champion this line. Carville just did it loudly - and scapegoated minorities in the process. Real hick shit.

I'm firmly convinced that one of the reasons we commercial actors can't get paid fairly for YouTube and IG ads is that no one on any side of the table trusts those stats.
The reason why platform companies do make it hard to find account location information is not because they believe in privacy, it's so that advertisers do not know how much is lost to low-tier engagement.

Growth, at all costs, means avoiding publishing basic metadata so that advertisers don't sue.

Aside from glazing over the fact that this technology enables self harm, it's an incredible fail that he doesn't pull out his phone and demonstrate the "epic roasts" grok supposedly does. Rogan is RIGHT THERE. Have grok roast Rogan! You see Elon meekly think about it and retreat.
This shit sucks.

I feel this so deeply. As a person who likes to try crafts and talk about it people are so often like "I'd love to do that but I'm not good at it". But crafts and hobbies are about learning. There's no guaranteed way to be good right off the bat. You have to develop skills and trust yourself.
Of course I would say this, but we need to talk about the moral & ideological case for play & leisure more than ever. So much political discourse - especially from the super-rich - assumes we ought to construct society around forcing citizens to spend most of their one, unrepeatable life working.
