I skeet about Star Trek a lot.
Don't mess with Texas Nurses.
💪 More than 700 registered nurses in Bryan-College Station are voting this week to join National Nurses United!

CommonSpirit’s St. Joseph Brazos Valley nurses are organizing for the safe staffing, retention, and quality care every patient deserves. Let’s cheer them on to vote #UnionYES!

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.

This is so key, and why I think pointing out right wing "hypocrisy" all the time is so counterproductive. You're just amplifying their messaging and creating more culture war content. They're not hypocritical - they're nazi grifters with no values outside of gutter racism and desire for power.
They are running the government according to the logic of right-wing grievance media. I cannot emphasize that enough. The point is to create content, and they don't see an actual difference between dunking on Sabrina Carpenter, passing legislation, and bombing other countries.
I don't really know what the administration hopes to gain by picking fights with the most well-liked pop artists in the United States. You're just generating backlash for no discernible reason outside of owning the libs.

You really owe it to yourself to check out the replies or quotes to the Onion headline tweet

Jurisprudence fetishist gets off on technicality.
What is the quintessential Onion headline? The strong contender that just randomly popped in my mind is "Hank Williams Jr. Honored by Institute For Football Preparedness"

My all-timer is probably this one. I clipped it from the print paper when it came out and it was on my wall for years. It was 2005, early on in the Forever Wars. I would follow General Bonkers to the gates of hell.

A Klingon crime investigation procedural that takes place on Qo’noS. I want to know what daily life is like for average (non-warrior) Klingons.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

It seems that Kaleb Horton has passed away. A devastating loss. One of the best writers of this generation. Kaleb was a friend for ten years and in all our conversations I was trying to convince him how good he was, something he seemed to know but also never fully believe. I am going to go cry now.

Excel started making docs full screen when I try to move them around (I often work from 2 or 3 at once) and I don't know how to turn it off and it might be the thing that pushes me over the edge.

the early K/S shippers in the 60s / 70s / 80s, living in eras of intense queer persecution and trauma while writing fanfic where two men in love get to have a happy ending on their little spaceship 300 years from now, speaking into existence a future they couldn’t even see, are absolute icons to me
Women started the first STAR TREK conventions, the fanzines, and gave birth to Shipping and Spirk, which was called Slash then with Kirk and Spock, i.e. K/S. They kept the franchise alive in the 1970s.

Bjo Trimble, the most famous of them all, saved the show from cancellation.
... When will men realize that women are the biggest part of sci-fi fandom. 🫩

Kershaw is probably gonna hit 3,000 strikeouts tonight and it looks like there's a fan in every single seat in Dodger Stadium, engaged like it's the world series.
