When you write "patreon" in a promotional post or comment, people assume subscription, and when you write "ko-fi" the default assumption is a single tip payment; there's an expectation based on the platform, before people have even clicked on the link.

I feel like the biggest hurdle with ko-fi is overcoming the fact that it's still fundamentally seen by the majority of users as a one-off tip jar, which is a strength if that's what you're after, but a weakness if you're trying to get your followers to sign up for recurring payments there.

You can buy live lobsters at the Halifax Airport! Or you could, when I was going to school there. They'd come in these colourful opaque boxes with water inside that you could take on the plane and then I guess decant once you got home.

Lately I’ve been playing Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles on Nintendo Switch 2 for review.

My full review will be up on my podcast, but I’d like to unpack a few thoughts here as well.

tldr; This is an excellent remaster with its own strengths and weaknesses.

It could be a fun way to bring some fresh lore into some of the old jobs that haven't had any fresh storytelling for three expansions in a row, but be contained to just one quest at level cap instead of committing to a full 10-level storyline.

I know as more jobs get introduced the labour of writing and coding all these different quests gets pretty extreme, but I had this fantasy where it could be put into a relic questline-- to reach some step, each job faces a unique combat instance custom to their job, fighting a master of their art

I agree completely tbh. I've been going back to unlock/level the jobs I didn't get to while doing MSQ, and it's nice getting to feel like.... like me choosing to be [X job] matters to someone in-world, whether it's an individual or a whole group or culture. I love moments where it's acknowledged.

Omg...... I know that pain in reverse, there's a past me who decided it was just fine to only save .jpegs of every comic page and just, not worry about keeping the layers, who needs those??
(And then when I did start saving layers, I did it inconsistently.... yippee....)
