Really dunno how to deal with the fact that you can tell people "hey, if we force cars to go a bit slower in your neighborhood, fewer of your neighbors will die agonizing deaths—perhaps even you yourself will not!" And they go, nah, want car go fast. www.washingtonpost.com/business/int...
America’s plan to protect pedestrians failed. A young woman’s death reveals why.
U.S. officials adopted Europe's Vision Zero initiative, but many cities have seen an increase in pedestrian fatalities despite efforts to improve road safety.

Hate to say we told you so.

Waymos felt very safe in the past, but absent very strict regulations they can crank up the aggressive driving at any time.

Johnny Sins.
This is a Bill Simmons game, but you’re stranded on a desert island. You can only have one actor’s filmography. You get it all, including cameos. But just the one performer.

I’m taking Cate Blanchett: Talented Mr. Ripley, LOTR, Life Aquatic, Black Bag, Tár, Ponyo, Hot Fuzz, Eyes Wide Shut, Thor

Been reading *Walkable City* by Jeff Speck and found out that there are an average of 500,000,000 empty parking spaces in the U.S. at any given time. That's almost 1.5x as many people live in the country. We have enough parking for another America and a half, assuming everyone owns a car.

I fully understand why “School of Rock” didn’t beat “Return of the King” for the 2003 Best Picture Oscar, but there’s no reason why Jack Black didn’t beat Sean Penn for Best Actor.

This is backwards. They've found an individual case of harm and ignored the big picture reality that in aggregate ebikes greatly *reduce* danger on our streets by getting some people out of cars, the mode inflicting the vast majority of injuries and killing.

In case anyone does not see how dishonest this is, it's just basic propaganda. You find someone somewhere (hopefully a pretty white woman!) that was legitimately harmed, and then you just constantly repeat that story until ppl associate it with ebikes. Eventually come to associate ebikes with danger
