spamming the ICE tiplines with the addresses of various consulates and seeing what happens
Amateur hour in Minneapolis continues, even with Bovino out of the picture.

This is indicative of a broader issue with Trump’s mass deportation push; officers aren’t doing even basic investigations (to figure out things like “is this address a consulate”) as pressure to keep up arrests is so high.

No longer a purple state it seems.
If you ever think that your political party has hit its floor, just remember it can always, ALWAYS, get worse.

Especially if your party is supporting the murder of an American citizen in broad daylight and the election is taking place miles from said murder.

Ruining the lives of everyone who participated in this regime is the best way to ensure that no one ever participates in such a regime ever again.

ICE just attempted an illegal entry into the ECUADORIAN CONSULATE to abduct someone

It took me an embarrassingly long time to understand why this was called the warehouse. A really cool project with I think some great potential for making packages more discoverable/ surfacing user feedback.
I’ve been thinking about how to find R packages by functionality when you don’t already know the package name.

So over the holidays, Claude Code and I built The Warehouse: a functionality-first R package directory that helps you find packages by what they do.

Hi guys - I know this is controversial among rapid responders, but I think it’s important: if you knew Alex Pretti, please consider talking to (real) reporters like Sam here. They are not trying to harm us or his reputation but they can push back against right-wing lies if we tell them the truth.
We’d like to know more about what led Pretti to Nicollet Avenue on Saturday. If you knew Alex, met or saw him in the Twin Cities over the last few weeks, or interacted with him online, please send me a message on Signal at 771-200-7508. We can keep anyone anonymous who wishes.

Just a prime example of how without *power* - in the Arendt sense of the ability to harness collective effort without direct coercion - governing becomes extremely difficult and costly.

These guys have a lot of *violence* but they are hemorrhaging power and they do not have *enough* violence.

Imagine, if your concern was immigration, how many immigration courts and advocates you could fund to smooth the process and reduce backlog, how much screening you could pay for, how many resources you could provide to newly-settled people and STILL have billions left over for other needs.

This report is stunning but not surprising.

30 ICE agents were found to have been charged with a litany of crimes, inc:

Gunpoint sexual assault, child sex trafficking, aggravated assault, robbery, rape, torture, kidnapping, sexual abuse of a minor, and production of child sexual abuse materials.
ICE is riddled with sex criminals.

A January 2026 report by the Pacific Antifascist Research Collective identified 30 ICE and CBP agents with documented convictions and arrests, some for serious violent and sexual crimes.

At least 20 committed offenses with underage victims.
Here’s How Many ICE and CBP Agents Allegedly Preyed on Children
Apparently the institutions are riddled with accused sex criminals.

Commentary: On this date, Jan. 27, in 1945, the Nazi death camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated by U.S.-allied Soviet troops.
Opinion: A message to the world on Holocaust Remembrance Day
Like many Jews, I prefer not to call it a “concentration camp,” for that is what the German Nazis called the places where they confined the people they sought to exterminate.
