A few years ago there was a terrible Gen Z tweet everyone dunked on about how people should get their car insurance payments back if they don’t use it. Anyway it’s fun to discover this is now the stated position of the GOP

HMP Wandsworth gets ‘green light’ to use AI after team sent in to find ‘quick fixes’ after spate of mistakes
Artificial intelligence chatbots could be used to stop prisoners from being mistakenly released from jail, a justice minister told the House of Lords on Monday.

Absolutely. There was a step change in the BBC going bad after the Gilligan affair. New Labour trying to move UK public opinion to be ok with being shoulder to shoulder with Bush.
No, I think it’s much the same as “the Iraq-Gilligan crisis” in the sense that it is vexatious horseshit deployed as an excuse to step on the BBC and intimidate it into obeying a bunch of malicious wankers, and the excuses for doing it are insulting drivel that should be ignored.

Over and over, centrists make this same mistake. They think there's some reasonable middle ground and that the right, like them, will appreciate the effort made to find it. But that is a fundamental misunderstanding of right-wing politics. It is a belief system structured around power alone.

If there was just one thing I wish every healthy person could understand, it is this: ANYONE can get a chronic illness.
Illnesses like #MECFS & #LongCovid can happen to absolutely anyone, it doesn’t matter how healthy you are.
Chronic illness can happen to good people. It could happen to you.

Went from hanging out in the backyard every few days, to hanging out every day, to expecting a spot on the sofa?

In his new book Hughes argues that psychology is not woke but that its methods are essentially conservative because it focuses on an individualistic view and ignores social context.
