Hi! I'm H.S. Kallinger, a disabled, queer author of queer SFF. I have a complete, published psych/urban fantasy series available at multiple online retailers, & I'm working on a new one. My works are character-driven, blend real science with fantasy, and I like to kick tropes in the face.
A banner for H.S. Kallinger featuring six book covers: Hotel of Lost Souls, Pet, Bridges, Predators, Castles, and World of Lost souls in the front center, while behind, the image is split into two: on the left is a fiery scene with a partial image of a topless tan man in jeans with his hands together by medical straps, holding a black shock collar. In the center, fire is bisected diagonally with red on the top and blue on the bottom. To the right is a dark blue scene with sparkling glitter lights over someone barely visible with perhaps pink hair and closed eyes colored by dark teal blue lighting.

My book release went well! I have already gotten "When's the next one?" comments and love to my little cinematic ad (in addition to more sales than any prior launch day).

My week's work was all about promoting that (and itch bundles, which have also made a few sales), so... yay!

Watching queerphobic comedians (or just laughing at queerphobic jokes).
Total silence on the subject of queerness.

Your child will still be queer, but before you know that, they'll know you hate them.

Being "your child's first bully" doesn't just look like rejecting their queerness. It also looks like:

Badmouthing your queer family.
Decrying the "lifestyle" of your queer acquaintances.
Hating on queerness in the abstract.
Choosing a hateful church over one of the many open and accepting ones.

A mockup of The First Sin by Cheyenne Brammah. In the sweeping expanse of the Årdrakin Empire, the people fight and die for honor as elite warriors of the galaxy. But long ago, a prophecy was spoken that presaged the apocalypse. Everyone knows and fears the truth: one day, the empire will fall.

Tårik is a guard for small, independent Clan Tsinna. Instead of pondering the end of his civilization, Tårik’s greatest concern is maintaining his honor while escorting a group of impertinent dignitaries across the treacherous Barren Gale. When the Mother Goddess speaks a passage from the prophecy to him, he has the good sense to be frightened, but he doesn’t heed the significance of Her visit.

Then disaster strikes, and Tårik is branded as an exile, leaving him with no home, no honor, and no future. Forced into a desperate struggle for survival, all Tårik can focus on is living just one more day until luck—or maybe fate—gives him the opportunity to join a new clan. But even this is fraught with danger and uncertainty, and it takes him to an inhospitable world far from the empire where survival seems all but impossible.

Faced with new challenges, including trying to navigate first contact with the low-tech locals, Tårik believes the prophecy can’t reach him. Yet it continues to loom, signaling that his fate and the fate of the empire are irrevocably entwined.

Happy Bonus: My writing partner, who's modeling the first knitting project I've ever completed (and stealing my tea).
Beenjamin, OP's plush bee (and writing partner/rubber duck for rubber duck plot debugging), hovers over a red cup full of tea. He's wearing a red, gold, and gray scarf. Behind him is a computer; on the screen, Scrivener sits open to a document (for The Nameless Song), still on chapter 7.

Not just directly yeeting the book out to everyone to read as soon as it's done XD

As a #neurospicy author, I find sticking to one project is really challenging, especially if I'm in a hard slog phase that doesn't give me any dopamine.

Gabby comes out as nonbinary in the first book, as does his partner, Jackie.

Those aren't the only coming-outs by a long shot, but they're the first and most important!

No, you're right about kimono not looking like that with large breasts or open. If it was improperly tied like that, her whole breasts would fall out. These trolls have never seen real breasts.

It's an anime trope they want, not reality. That's the tantrum.

Yep! I recorded and edited it all in Audacity and then put it together in DR.

💙💙 VAing is WORK!

Yeah. I knew I needed a short, and I've gotten the hang of DaVinci Resolve, I feel, so I was mostly winging it. Just threw together a script I hope will grab attention (or at least entertain), picked a new song from my library, and used that to kinda guide the rest!

Thank you! I started it last night but ran out of steam, so I got it finished today, and it came out better than I was expecting 🖤❤️

Being anti-GenAI is not being anti-science. TF? It's not even precisely technophobic.

Quite frankly, being pro-GenAI in its current form is being anti-science, as it ignores the multidisciplinary aspects of science itself and how technology must bring more good that harm, which GenAI does NOT.

I hope I capture the times and subcultures in which I lived to give people an 'old timey' feel in 50 years. I hope that people in the future can still find it and see that there were people who cared about what we left them. And I hope some of them just enjoy the stories themselves.
