Reading CBS News?
this is obviously Bari trying to put her finger on the scale again but I appreciate the unintentional distinction between “Americans” and “Republicans” here
Bari Weiss is now infecting the headline writing. Note when a large majority of Americans tells the CBS pollster that they consider the protesters in Minneapolis to be well justified, she goes with only what Republicans—a dwindling number to start with—think.

Christ, Trump is DUMB. And Republicans are spineless.
Why? Is Cassidy now going to suddenly grow a spine now that Trump kicked him to the curb? He’s going to be Thom Tillis 2.0? If only these people could do the right thing BEFORE they are kicked out the club.

If we break our alliances, we are smaller and weaker. If we break them for pride and power and greed, then we don’t just break an alliance, we break our own character. We diminish ourselves in every way that matters, and no amount of newly sovereign frozen ground can obscure our national shame.

And I sense he's become far less involved with saving America's democracy. 😏

Not the Lech Wałęsa he could have been.

American democracy still needs a leader.

He’d never mention the place again.

As someone who worked alongside our NATO partners my entire career, I’m embarrassed to take people’s phone calls. It is beyond the pale that we have the United States of America talking about using military action in a fellow NATO country.

8,000 verbal assaults?

Let’s say we all agree on however you define that. Who is counting these incidents? How is it just 8,000? Every clip you can find online sounds like a radio edit gangster rap track.

And if you climb into your Hilton bed every night with that ringing in your ears …
"We've seen over a thousand percent increase in assaults on ICE officers, 8,000 verbal assaults on them...."

This is Minneapolis:

You hear that the local Postal Workers' Union is doing a march so you decide to join them in solidarity for a walk around the neighborhood.

As you're walking down Lake Street, an unaffiliated group of neighbors in high-vis show up to help bolster the marshaling efforts.
This is Minneapolis:

As you’re photographing a truly spectacular sunset, a couple wearing fluorescent whistles walks by with their dog. You wave.

One of the sleds from the Art Sled Rally (a yellow snow mobile emblazoned with “resist”) drives past on the roof of a pickup painted with giraffe spots.
This is Minneapolis:

You go to the local park for an Art Sled rally. The turnout is robust even though it’s 11 degrees and protests are occurring in multiple places around the city. Over half of the sleds have an anti-ICE theme.

Don’t forget Good’s widow.

So the mourning spouse, the mayor, and the governor are under criminal investigation. But not the cops who shot her three times, called her a “fucking bitch,” and denied her medical care.
The DOJ is not investigating ICE agent Jonathan Ross for the fatal shooting of Renee Good, a top official said Sunday.

The top DOJ official confirmed that an investigation is underway into Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.
Justice Department says it has no plans to investigate ICE agent who killed Renee Good and confirms Walz, Frey probe
Frey and the governor’s office both said Sunday that the DOJ has not contacted them about the investigation.
