While we’d need data to confirm, my impression is that the more conservative a Catholic is, the less likely they are to respect the Pope’s views and authority, and I feel like that’s weird.

Reading Norman Mailer's The Quick and the Dead, and one thing that's really noticeable in early WWII literature is there's a lot of emphasis on, if you like, diversity. That a platoon contains many accents and backgrounds. NYC, Texas, California; Polish, Jewish, Mexican, Italian.

Reading Norman Mailer's The Quick and the Dead, and one thing that's really noticeable in early WWII literature is there's a lot of emphasis on, if you like, diversity. That a platoon contains many accents and backgrounds. NYC, Texas, California; Polish, Jewish, Mexican, Italian.

One interesting thing you may not know about publishing is that at this point there are only 4 people alive who still purchase a book, open it, and read the words inside. All the stores and campaigns are to reach them. Famous authors like Stephen King sometimes reach as many as 2 with a single book.
