this is why it matters to understand what these tools actually are instead of accepting Sam Altman's

But boy let me tell you, that alt text generator is getting used shitloads, with its xbox-ish power consumption and total privacy with a small model. I’m scared here.

On behalf of comp ling people everywhere, FUCK OpenAI for reinforcing the conflation. I know three who left here bc of that list

Alright, I've got the writing part down.

Now I just need to destroy my life and cause untold horror and suffering by having gross phone sex with a world historical monster.

who up?
Like Icarus, I too tried to fuck the Sun, the Son, like Apollo, the Politician was a golden son of a political god. Junior they called him, but he filled the sky with his grandiloquent burning. He burn me. My wax drip. Ow.

The background, shadows, and wind direction in the AI lion slap video remain consistent. So they're using 3D compositing systems to make AI tiktoks now?

Welp.
You tried, epistemology. GG

The battlefields of the future will be filled with creatures that look like Japanese mascots.
The serious security robots are going to look anime. On standby, they'll look like a 3ft tall rolly-polly Kirby, with tiny mitten hands giving friendly wave to everyone.

When active, their spider limbs will sprout to launch their 500lb bulk at you.

We are not out of the woods, not by a long shot.

The horrors are here, they have not receded.

At the same time, the regime has overplayed its hand and failed in its efforts of total consolidation of power.

I don't see a path to their realizing totalitarian control.

And I don't know if the answer is: everyone is too traumatized to do work and we need to reinvent society. Or if it's more like: generations are losing their cognitive abilities and willpower due to destructive technologies. Or: we all have post-viral brain damage. Or: all of the above.

I don't think every or even most journalists are this utterly corrupt. The investigative folks I know have always conducted themselves pretty scrupulously, and I'm currently forced to conclude that's why they haven't hit the big-time

Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

Watch out! My outfit's ridiculous!
In the club looking so conspicuous!
And rawr! These women all on the prowl!
If you hold the head steady, I'ma milk the cow!
And forget about game, I'ma spit the Truth!
I won't stop 'til I get 'em in their birthday suit!

Will Stancil waggling his bare ass at the internet: "We already have cities and no one wants to live in them. Do you think that opinion is bad? Am I very bad boy?"
This isn’t true, we have built lots of non-sprawly places, and while they’re good and I like them and want to build more, one thing that hasn’t happened is that people have in any real way abandoned sprawl for these places
