Every photo from Minneapolis looks like this. Cops decked out with guns and full tac gear facing off against people in bathrobes, parkas, and sweatpants armed only with whistles and cell phones.

Yet every verified MAGA chode on X dutifully calls it a riot or violent insurrection.

I'm so glad you were able to find it!

Habeas corpus actions are the ancient common law writ used to create a legal action to sue for freedom. They were crucial in the early-nineteenth-century efforts to challenge slavery.
This graph showing “habeas cases” suddenly leaping in 2025 —

Wow!! Migration and the Origins of American Citizenship by Anna O. Law @unlawfulentries.bsky.social is out!! As timely as it is important.

The archive is subscription based, but @emoryuniversity.bsky.social library has it so it appears to be getting around. Check public libraries is your univ doesn't have it. It’s an archive of elite US foreign policy thinking so of course it should be pared w/ other sources depending on one's focus.

Potentially important new @cfr.org digital archive. Of interest to @shafrhistorians.bsky.social
and other scholars & students interested in the US & the world.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

This is absolutely insane: DHS claims the right to subpoena your emails and to send investigators to your house. In this case, because a retiree sent the mildest possible criticism to a prosecutor. No judges involved.
