While work-life balance may give you a sense of happiness and fulfillment, it isn’t always realistic, says Walmart executive vice president and chief people officer Donna Morris.
Walmart exec: ‘I’ve never believed in the term work-life balance’—this is the mantra that made her highly successful instead
Many professionals see work-life balance as a non-negotiable. Walmart CPO Donna Morris says people should practice work-life integration instead. Here's why.

It’s all about proper risk management until Thanksgiving, I guess ;)

The proper time is a floating number between noon and “by weight it should have been done an hour ago…You know, you’re welcome to do it next time since you’re so nosy about when it’s going to be done” o’clock.

Yea not in a million years on this end—but WWII museum over multiple days? Yes. I have passed the “keep him company” baton on that one to my son.

I’m pretty lucky in father-in-laws (*let’s not discuss politics) but this is surely going to make guys jealous down at the husband factory.
Reuters reached out to everyone that Trump or his subordinates singled out publicly for retribution, and reviewed hundreds of official orders, directives and public records. The result: the most comprehensive accounting yet of his campaign of payback.

They argue it’s a store of value (the deluded digital gold stuff). And at that, it’s obviously terrible—attack there. But I don’t want this guy sneaking in Friedman’s quantity theory of money to help revive a moribund part of monetarism while giving a facile history of money.

This is not a great argument—in fact it’s a sleight of hand: treat it as currency to make up a high inflation number then come back and say it’s not a medium of exchange, which is a non sequitur. Crypto dudes don’t claim people exchange it for stuff so that’s not where you want to go anyway…

I’m sure. Though I saw that segment enough—should have been titled “whatever it is, I don’t like it if it’s from the 20th century”—to hear his voice and delivery loud and clear reading it.

This is a classic of a very peculiar genre.

In 2025, a new religion was formed among the denizens of Bluesky—one whose path to wisdom centered on the principle: “Live as though at any moment you might be asked to clarify what you meant by that.”

This thread … well there’s no preparing you for them except don’t read if on a Zoom call and try to pretend you’re working.

I do like the competitive “we can make the circularity even clearer” competitor among the infographic peeps.

Yeah. Maybe while I don't go full PJs, I find it adorable when people do and totally appropriate given that it's not like I'm going to wear a suit while getting sealed into a very fast tin can.

Close enough! :)

Really important to stress that the Crown Jewels of the US higher education system were never the Ivies or elite SLACs (other countries have equivalents of these) but the well-funded, large, cheap, and excellently staffed public state university systems bringing high quality education to the masses.
One of the bragging rights that the US ed system had in the 20th century is that we didn't have education tracks. Essentially, any kid could go to a CC or state school & major in whatever they wanted to (obviously an oversimplification). I fear this aspect of the American dream is dying.

This reminds me: is Olivia Nuzzi from Long Island? And if not, is she an honorary Long islander now?

This is an all-time pro tip.

Ha!
