Americans who embrace Christian nationalism more likely to agree situation f/ people with disabilities is good as it is, disabled people demand too much from rest of society, & there have been enough societal efforts in favor of people w/ disabilities.

the economic success of the U.S. is significantly built on the land grant universities and in particular their excellent agricultural science tradition.
Really important to stress that the Crown Jewels of the US higher education system were never the Ivies or elite SLACs (other countries have equivalents of these) but the well-funded, large, cheap, and excellently staffed public state university systems bringing high quality education to the masses.
One of the bragging rights that the US ed system had in the 20th century is that we didn't have education tracks. Essentially, any kid could go to a CC or state school & major in whatever they wanted to (obviously an oversimplification). I fear this aspect of the American dream is dying.

Since February, according to my latest analysis, almost 600,000 Black women have been economically sidelined. The November 20, 2025, Jobs Report makes clear this isn’t a blip. It’s a structural crisis. That is not a recovery. It is a redistribution of opportunity.

Good grief.
Trump also just posted these photos to Truth Social, including the one with Mamdani standing next to a portrait of FDR. Trump mentioned Mamdani asked if he could have his picture taken there.

"It's an amazing portrait in the cabinet room," Trump said. "So he's a big fan of the New Deal, I guess..."

I was grateful to be in the room with you all!

I guess the perfect title to a news article does exist.

And the GOP senator above is actually FOR redistricting. Just not adamant enough, apparently.

I don't know how many of you are aware of what's going on in Indiana, but there have been repeated instances of swatting and bomb threats made against the GOP state senators who rebuffed the Governor's request to redraw the congressional map at the prez's request.

Not the point of @gelliottmorris.com piece, but look at this divide among Republicans on social issues. Half of them look like normal people and the other half are way out of step with the rest of the country. There’s a bit of a mirror on the left but much smaller.
Initially, some moms of autistic kids eagerly accepted vaccine lies, because that way they could reject the "refrigerator mother" hypothesis, which blamed autism on "cold" mothering.

Now, those same tired vaccine lies will likely be used to blame moms who choose to vaccinate their kids.

We are thrilled to welcome @profmmurray.bsky.social back with us tonight. She joins @jbrownedianis.bsky.social for a conversation about expanding inclusion and strengthening trust in our democratic life. Together, they bring deep insight and a shared vision for a democracy that serves all of us.
Our program continues with a conversation between Yulia Navalnaya and historian @ruthbenghiat.bsky.social.

Progress never comes from one person alone. John C. Yang, president of @aaaj-aajc.bsky.social and a leading civil rights advocate, joined us on #TheContext to share how the civil rights victories we rely on today were built by thousands of everyday people who refused to give up.

This is good. We need reminders.

I've been sitting here trying to communicate something on this, but I've got nothing.

So, those of us who are out of words--you're not alone.
If you're the parent of a disabled kid, I just want to tell you I know it's hard and I know you feel like you're failing constantly, but you're doing it and you're doing the best you can and your kid absolutely loves you for it.
