Lucas Paqueta, who has just come back from a suspension, is shown a red card for West Ham against Liverpool.

He gets a yellow card for protesting the referee's decision, before continuing to talk to the referee — which earns him a second yellow.

I hope you love something beautiful and meaningless. For me, it's football. I don't care what it is for you, but I wish you a deep love for something that means nothing until you give it meaning through your attention.

It's a movement dedicated to lying, cheating and stealing, being cruel to your neighbors and worshiping money.
I'm turning 46 this year and I know how this sounds but I earnestly believe we are in a fundamental moral crisis as a nation

this chart appears as if it couldn’t be real. But it is. The GOP reconciliation plan is nothing short of highway robbery of those in the middle and at the bottom, all to pay for tax cuts for the richest people on earth.
Yale Budget is out w/ illustrative analysis of what following the House budget plan could look like - of what cutting Medicaid & SNAP while extending the Trump tax cuts could look like.

It’d hurt the poor, be roughly neutral for the middle class, & help the rich.

No. Christians feel persecuted because there is a vast media apparatus telling them that they are persecuted. There is no evidence whatsoever of large-scale discrimination against Christians in this country.
Interesting story that gets to the heart of why many Christians feel persecuted in the U.S.: The secular elite find many of their views abhorrent and uncouth

This paragraph is one of the dumbest things I've seen written by a Supreme Court justice. It's literally suggesting that a judge has no right to stop the executive branch from blatantly ignoring Congressionally ordered payments.
Alito, joined by Thomas, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh, dissents.

I would note that this message is full of (a) kitchen table issues and (b) both rhetorical and material moderation

and people love it because it is clear, mobilizing and oppositional

this is what the national Dems just don't get

Something that’s very clear is that Trump is old and checked out. He wants to play the role of president but has zero interest in doing the job and is happy to outsource the real work to Musk, Vought and a crew of feral zealots.

seriously tho this is the message, this is the one line

we don't bow to kings in America

it connects everything Trump is doing to founding principles
we don't bow to kings is such an easy shot Kathy Hochul drained it bsky.app/profile/dave...
Just watched Hochul say "we're not going to bow to the king. Never have, never will." You never set your enemy up for a 3-pointer like that, come on!
