Not to be controversial but I think if you're not living on a certain hill, e.g. you are not affected by trans issues, you should not be the one to declare whether it's worth dying on that hill. Just one man's opinion!

This is really important and also please remember "trans" is an adjective not a noun. Whenever I see someone saying "I support trans" (as opposed to "I support trans people") the next word is always "but".
A small thing, but, please: It's trans woman/women and trans man/men. The space is important.

I'm sorry but cis people are also going to have to suffer. Banning trans people, quarantining the harm to only hit trans people in order to save the organization- in order to preserve its value to cis people, in order to spare cis people- is simply transphobia, is treating us as disposable.
And do they really want to expose every single adult volunteer in their organisation, just nondescript people going about their lives, subject to these psychopaths and their media buddies "transvestigating" them all. Because that's what would come next.

Speaking as the president of an NGO and as a trans woman: when orgs decide to abandon a group, to sacrifice them, it is not that group’s job to “understand how hard it would have been to fight.”
If trans people hope to survive, it is our job to make that abandonment costly as hell.

I think it's neat how both transphobes who wish us harm and "allies" who reluctantly sacrifice us to save their institutions are upset when we're vocal about it. You can't make those choices and also have trans people like you, sorry you have to deal with people being mad at you! Must be tough.

The more cis people I see defending the Girl Guides and the Women's Institute by saying things like "if they shut down they won't be able to serve people" the more I become the Joker. If they kick out trans women they're already not serving people! Why should they even exist at that point?

my favorite thing about statements saying that they "stand with you and support you" is that the people issuing the statements generally do this after explicitly *not* standing with you, supporting you, or even occasionally just watching from the sidelines
