I considered writing a long carefully constructed argument laying out the harms and limitations of AI, but instead I wrote about being a hater. Only humans can be haters.
I Am An AI Hater
I am an AI hater. This is considered rude, but I do not care, because I am a hater.

went to a sweet local sewing store the other day to buy a bobbin winder tire and machine oil and they have a specialty store community newspaper that they gave to me with reader-submitted stories and truly truly the only piece of media i can trust these days.

Me: so I broke my arm

Canadian doctor: MAID

Me: uh, is that the only...?

Canadian doctor: (producing two buckets of bubbling green liquid) so do you want 'painful?' Or 'extremely painful?'

“The real problem isn’t that Vision Zero doesn’t work; it’s that many
places have adopted that slogan without making any real changes,”
said Amy Cohen, who founded Families for Safe Streets after her son,
Sammy, was killed in front of their New York City home.

Sounds familiar.

On the way back from a community meeting about the long-delayed Wellington Cres safety pilot, I noticed drivers have already implemented their own lane reduction. Majority of traffic evidently using one lane each direction, with some using the center lane for turns.

Premeditated road violence.
A sad day for cyclists. Bill 60 - which prohibits the conversion of motor vehicle lanes to bike lanes (or any other prescribed purpose) - has passed Third Reading this morning which will kill various cycling projects in Toronto & across Ontario. #shame #BikeTO #BikeSky #TOpoli #ONpoli #VisionZero

Out for a walk and had the good fortune to run into a good friend walking to his transit route. We talked about increased enforcement denying transit to anyone without fare (apparently tasers are on the table for these officers).

Within a few blocks of Ellice saw four police officers standing by bus stops and four transit enforcement officers. Some $500k plus in annual salaries. Watched them turn away someone over a $3 fare.
Noticed it’s gameday for Jets.

My pet theory is that every hour spent inside a car makes us more susceptible to fascism.
Trapped in traffic and stuck travelling long distances to work because of car-centric planning?

Be grateful, says Mercedes-Benz’s latest advert which aims to persuade us that spending two years of our lives stuck inside a car is somehow actually a good thing.

“The power of one man doesn't amount to much. But with whatever little strength I'm capable of I'll do everything humanly possible to protect the people I love and in turn they'll protect the ones they love. Seems like the least we tiny humans can do for each other.”

“Sounds like a pyramid scheme.”
