Welcome new followers! I am Abbaetha. I mostly follow historians, academics, authors and bookish types, crafters, and cooks. My feed is mostly breads, cakes, books, and crafts, which continues the theme. I like a quiet peaceful corner and that’s the goal of this account. No cat, but ferrets.

The 5 movie genres I like

- Set in the future but now in the past.
- Sweaty 70's American city
- Neon with Tangerine Dream
- Kurt Russell's Beard
- Foreigners in Italy caught up in a murder (black gloved killer optional)

*American city can be replaced with driving nitroglycerine through a jungle

I made the vital gochujiang cookies today. They are very nice particularly if you like the salty/sweet type of desserts - lots of nice umami and depth, with a real but not overwhelming spicy finish.

Look at this beautiful little mushroom.
It turned out cute I think ?

These would make super cute tiny accents for tiny succulents in pots , like little plant stakes

I threw out 6 boxes of ancient and pointless files (really, other country I lived in for a while, if you want to audit me you’ve missed your window) and am now self-medicating with lackluster candy. Please clap.
The decluttering persists, but so do I.

The fabric stash is particularly distressing.

Exhibit 596 supporting @nome.bsky.social ‘s theory that the only thing going on in owl brains is “murder murder murder murder”
That face you make when you get busted for murdering a vole and the evidence is splattered all over your bill but you’re so drunk with blood lust you don’t even care

Still looking for some of these! We’ve said yes to a couple of pitches, but are looking for around 3-5 more for early next year.

We are primarily looking for historians of ancient, medieval, and non-Western figures.
Call for (post-PhD) historians and cultural scholars for the pod! We have a specific wishlist of scholarship we’re looking to add to the lineup:
- ancient & medieval history
and/or
- histories of anywhere other than the US and UK, preferably outside Europe

Pitches to: [email protected]
