In June 2020, I was following several trans people (mostly women in tech) on Twitter. I knew only they could really understand their own transness, but I was under the impression that they always knew who they were and that they suffered from what could obviously be understood as gender dysphoria.

Prof. Holbein has clearly invested a lot in this enterprise, and this pumpkin could well contribute to our knowledge of large vegetables.
However, at present, the pumpkin is not well-situated among existing plants. I have trouble seeing what this pumpkin gives us that squashes did not already.
