In 2024/5, I was mostly prioritising getting a stable job. This was not only for financial reasons--though that too--but also because I had little hopes of Ireland extending my refugee status in perpetuity. The messaging has always been "You're very welcome, can't wait for you to leave"

Look, I have been reading a lot more lately and I noticed people are writing the women in their stories as kinda sanitary, dull I guess is the word? And like, their male characters are super fleshed out, but the girls feel like they are cutouts being wiggled around, if you get my meaning?
