Blood libel doesn't mean "heinous libel," and I wish people would stop using it that way. It refers specifically to the libel that Jews make matzah, the unleavened bread we eat on Passover, with the blood of gentile children. If it's gonna be generic, at least make it about killing children.

I agree nominating Shapiro will undo some of the papering etc. But I believe the other candidates share his views on I/P or maybe are even to his right on this; have the others been as vocal re: getting Netanyahu out?) but he’s the only one being blamed. And that’s bc he’s a Jew.

Jewish activists are best positioned not only to reject unfair accusations of antisemitism but also point out real instances of antisemitism. They should receive support and trust in these efforts, not denigrated and cut out. It sometimes works like this, but should happen much more.
