I love(?) that in my corner of the internet we all know who this is

In fact, I think any two of three qualifiers (medievalist/yarn-er/blood libel aficionado) are sufficient to identify her
all her posts on here are yarn and a good two thirds of her posts over there are blood libel

I’m going to be honest, any time I see “unapologetically” as a political trope (right or left), I assume it’s someone who’s nursing a grievance about having to care about other people, and I recoil.
We really need to bring back the idea that shame can be a necessary feeling, and that there are things nations do that ought to lead to feeling shame.
This message from the US State Department about "not wanting allies to be shackled by guilt and shame" is a pretty direct call-out to the German far-right argument that Germany has spent too long feeling guilty about the Holocaust, and needs to move on and stop doing remembrance.

My main opinion on Graham Platner is if there was a 41 year old guy running in the Republican primary for the Maine Senate seat and it turned out that he had a Nazi tattoo for 15 years and then he claimed that he just didn't know it was a Nazi tattoo, none of you would ever stop screaming about it.

Chomsky engaged in manufacturing consent for narcissistic creeps with delusions of intelligence.
"One Edge member and Epstein consort, the anarchist Noam Chomsky, described this ethos: “The cool observers – meaning us smart guys – it’s our task to impose necessary illusions and emotionally potent oversimplifications to keep these poor simpletons on course.”

Hey, @newsweek.com, all of this sucks. The “critics” are plainly right, and Holman hasn’t “refuted” anything. He just denied it. He’s lying, but at best it was a false statement. No shortage of evidence either.
Critics have alleged that ICE agents racially profile people as part of the Trump administration's deportation operations.

Some noble, inclusive, and democratic "real America" from the past is not coming to save us, nor are we doomed to forever live in an oppressive, racist, and exclusionary "real America" that has always existed. Both versions of "our" history are real. America's future is up to us.

We are a nation in which thousands of Black people were "legally" kidnapped with the assistance of the federal government & sent back into slavery.

We are also a nation in which thousands of white & Black people organized in their local communities to try to stop those kidnappings.

"We" are both.

In 1854, after watching the federal government deploy 2000 federal troops and spend $40,000 sending Anthony Burns back into slavery, Boston's Amos Adams Lawrence said “we went to bed one night old-fashioned, conservative, Compromise Union Whigs and waked up stark mad Abolitionists.”

The acting director of ICE told Congress, under oath, that local law enforcement in Colorado leaked raid plans, allowing gang members to escape.

After 9NEWS questioned ICE's claim and its timeline, ICE deleted the claim from its social media platforms.

I redirect everyone’s attention to JIM MACKAY, a book-banning, Great Replacement Theory-touting hard right-winger who *has changed his name* to J. GORDON MITCHELL to run as a Democrat in Texas’ 17th Congressional district
I also am baffled that people are assuming this super checkered barely known guy will be super progressive as though we're not living in a post Fetterman universe.
It's nuts that these are the two candidates the respective wings of the Maine Dems have coughed up. I am positive there are, somewhere in the state, a moderate who's not 97 years old and a progressive who doesn't have nazi tattoos.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

There are certain tactics which are universally condemned because they do ultimate and lasting harms.

You don't do foreign ops by claiming you're medical personnel...or you can't do medicine because of generational suspicion.

When they claim to need help or are in distress to do harm? Same shit.
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.
