Agreed 100%, no other game this year comes close
I may have more hours logged in other games but my game of the year is an easy uncontested Citizen Sleeper 2 by @jumpovertheage.com

Curling up on the couch on a cold morning and exploring the starward belt, the absolutely fantastic tension of timers and stress combining, and oh, The Characters...

yeah my IMO is: it's bad to use it, it's bad they left it in, it's good they removed it, it's good they disavow it, and it's entirely justified to have rescinded awards for it. i will continue to talk about clair obscur fondly.

fiiinally an official atatement i can just accept LMAO

"we did use it when it was new but we didn't like it and never will again" is a great and satisfying answer

Pluribus rules because it’s forcing people who wanna see a bunch of sci fi lore dumps to instead watch amazing actors have incredibly interesting conversations about what it means to be a person

I say this with zero irony: if you are even tangentially a part of a retro video game community, it is your civic duty to push back against this company and shun anyone who doesn't. This is fascism tapping gently at the door and as soon as you let it in, it's going to invite its friends.

Masterpiece! Wonderfully human in both its missteps and successes. A sentimental but not cloying take on a very good novel
With CLOUD ATLAS coming out on 4K next week, where do you stand in the CLOUD ATLAS camp:

Masterpiece or Disaster?

Rob Reiner made THE PRINCESS BRIDE. He made WHEN HARRY MET SALLY. He made MISERY, SPINAL TAP, and countless other classics.

Rob gave us a great gift, and his and his wife's senseless murders are a devastating loss.

New Knives out quite good. Manages to neither be sneeringly anti-religious nor doing that tired trope where the arrogant atheists are humbled by simple faith. Actual adult treatment of religiosity that’s kind of rare these days.

Epic pays for licensing fees for the games they give away for free as promotions. Which means even if YOU aren't paying for it, you're giving money to JK Rowling to harm transgender people AND elevating her stature by giving her franchise higher numbers.
