Zohran’s inauguration brimmed w/the energy that NYC is “a shining beacon of possibility” per @jumaane.bsky.social.

Amidst the darkness of authoritarianism, inequality & hate, we have a chance to show what’s possible.

That’s always been our mission as New Yorkers—it was profoundly renewed today.

Now I may be a rube and non-politics knower, but if a politician came to my neighborhood with health supplies or a fat Christmas goose for all I would think they seemed alright.
Too busy doing what besides materially improving the lives of their constituents?
at a deep instinctive level they can't recognise popular ideas or take them seriously

What matters is this:

Every child deserves to grow without fear.

That’s the magic worth keeping.”

The Roberts Six have thoroughly politicized the Court and turned it into a reliable arm of the RNC.

Democrats should have no reservations about calling them out for it, demanding resignations from these bought-off hacks and running on a promise to enact sweeping reforms.

He shouldn’t just be pushed out as the House Democrats’ leader; he needs to be primaried out of his seat entirely. Just a complete waste of a deep blue seat.
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

really important element of this basically total victory is that it puts the fear of god in republican incumbents and may bring the redistricting push to a total halt

Here in Atlanta yesterday, more than 2,000 people waited in their cars—one woman for 14 hours—for a box of food. The giveaway ended early; there wasn't enough to go around.

Multiply this scene by countless others across the country, and you get a sense of how crushing the desperation is right now.

Obamas speech was good and as usual way better than 99% of politicians but the “distraction” thing is once again mainstream Dems not coming to terms with what they are up against.

The “distraction” is a part of the thing, not separate from it. It’s all part of the fight.

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

3/ general. In the decades that followed basically no general staffs studied Lee's battles and strategies. On the contrary for the next half century and longer general staff's around the world studied Grant and Sherman and to a lesser extent other generals under their command.

People are often surprised to learn that Lee was an officer who never made it past colonel. The purported promotion to general was awarded by a treasonous cabal calling itself the "confederate states of america" which was put down by force by the Union army, which also had superior generals.
The Pentagon is restoring a portrait of Gen. Robert E. Lee, which includes a slave guiding the Confederate general’s horse in the background, to the West Point library three years after a congressionally mandated commission ordered it removed, officials said.

the thing with Mamdani is that he’s obviously an incredible political talent - the campaign he’s run has been extremely impressive even if you don’t like his policies

the party should be delighted, and that they’re instead pulling out all the stops to beat him speaks volumes

2) Men who find work, recreation, friends, romantic partners through some structure affiliated in some way with a political party
