I went from a 6 figure job and able to help friends to being disabled, unemployed due to my disability, and surviving because of my friends. I'd be dead without them.

Take care of each other, now more than ever
Anyone can become disabled.

Anyone can lose their job.

Anyone can become homeless.

Anyone can go hungry.

These are not moral failings. They can happen in an instant.

Most people are far closer to living in poverty than they realize.

We must fight for one another & for the most vulnerable.

The resolution was not about condemning political violence, it's about the government officially honoring the life and work of the head of our contemporary Nazi Youth—don't let anyone try to gaslight you into believing otherwise.
Charlie Kirk dehumanized trans people as “a throbbing middle finger to God.” That cruelty was infuriating. But Sarah McBride was right to condemn his assassination — political violence will not liberate trans people, it hurts us most. aridrennen.substack.com/p/when-viole...
When Violence Breaks, the Vulnerable Bleed First
Sarah McBride voted to condemn the assassination of Charlie Kirk. I would have too.

Philosophy is Suicidal
Despite all of his flaws, I have never truly managed to hate Peter Sloterdijk.

to my mind the woman who dies of sepsis because of antiabortion laws, or the person who dies because they can't afford insulin -- these are just as much victims of political violence as the man shot through the throat while making a racist speech

Every trans professor, teaching assistant, gender studies lecturer and queer academic is a little bit safer today.

I’ve had a lot of friends receive death threats and harassment because of TP

Remember when two democrat politicians were assassinated three months ago and other than a little noise from the democrats everyone just shrugged and moved on, no address to the nation, republicans permitted to openly be happy about it

Turning Point USA made a literal watch list of professors, primarily women, queer folks and people of color, and made us targets of political violence. I’ve received hate mail and harassment and death threats off and on for nearly a decade in part due to that man’s organization so 🤷🏽‍♀️

If work is being done by a trans grad student, assume that they’ve done the very best that they can, are open to improving it, but have already poured all of their intellectual and emotional capacity into it. Presume they’ve missed meals & been r@p#d. Presume they don’t have the same time as you

I’ve never met a trans grad student (except from money) who wasn’t an anxious starving mess. And yet people talk to us like “well why don’t you take another year and focus on perfecting this” or “I, a cis, don’t understand the importance of this”. they look at us and don’t know they’re killing us

In my academic life I’m often confronted with people who expect me to be a perfectionist, who want me to produce the best work I possibly can. And of course in an ideal world I would like that too. I wish I could spend years revising something, but the truth is I’ve already bled into the thing.

If you want to help others read Reverse Tomboy one of the best things you can do for myself as an author is to hound your local library into ordering a copy. The ISBN is 9781069476708

Cis women will be like "Wowwww check out this new dress I got I look so hot in it!!!" and no one will call her an autogynephile because that's called being a normal human being who likes how you look

The material reality of medical transition as something that really works is incredibly powerful, destabilizing to the immutability of the gender binary and of sex as such, which is why they want to ban it so badly. Transsexuality is the vanguard!

This is btw a great thread on not only sissy porn but also sex and care work for trans feminine people. I have never been paid for this kind of work, but the description matches my experience. This is also a great example about the amount of emotional labor going into sex work.
Brief explaner on 'sissy porn'

It's forced feminization erotica, so usually mean girls MAKING a blushing boy dress and act like a woman, many are set in college settings but not all.

It was and may be still popular among some trans eggs for reasons that should be obvious, the fear of transition
let the court records show that Graham Linehan is *really* familiar with sissy porn

What does “!” actually mean❗

Used for joy, anger, warnings, and math (! = factorial), it is one of the most emotional punctuation marks.

Some say it comes from Latin “io” – an ancient shout of joy.

But in the wrong context, it can feel … hostile.
