This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Level-5 using AI is disappointing enough, but I also think it's insulting to imply that code is 100% of what makes up a game.

I also want to push back on this thing I keep hearing - that *everyone* is using AI. We're not! I work on three games and I've not used it at all!

There's in-universe Corvosider fanfic in Dishonored: Death of the Outsider (I know this because I put it there.)
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

When I was on the perfcap stage for Miles Morales, I - BADLY - doodled stick figures of shots and moves and showed them to the animation directors and actors. They laughed, and then we shot it. Some of my best memories on that project.

So yeah this answer doesn’t work for me.
Anyone who supports this is an embarrassment. "Instead of typing it out they'll generate their idea"? Are you insane?

Call yourself whatever you want but you aren't creatives, that's for sure.

"concept artists can experiment with AI to make their lives easi-"

wrong

I smack you with Claire Hummel's immaculate and detailed understanding of costume design, which she got by studying historical references, which made her strong, which you will not become by relying on AI

So many details from IMMORTALITY & key inspirations came from out of print books, archive recordings of TV shows that aren't online, etc. Every detail I LOVED was one that could never be surfaced by AI because it was mentioned once in 1 place, could not be hallucinated out of averages

If you think you need generative AI to make your game then you have expectation issues that generative AI will never solve.

Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things.

Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

We didn’t know until recently that Sunsoft was instrumental in Myst. They saw The Manhole and Cyan’s other children’s games, how popular they were in Japan, and wanted something like it for adults. Coincidentally, the Millers already wanted to do this, but American publishers rejected their pitches.

Down, down to a world of whimsical picture-puzzle adventure on PC Engine CDROM-ROM. Cyan's HyperCard adventure, The Manhole, lays further groundwork for Myst and its popularity in Japan. So popular, in fact, that Myst was a Saturn launch title.

I just can't fucking get over this.

I started an entire goddamn company because it's so impossible to find good references of clothing these days, and meanwhile people who have no idea what they're talking about are telling skilled craftspeople to do their job with slop.

FUCK.
If you need really high quality reference material of clothing from any historical era and you want to make sure the data is captured by human people who want to use it ethically, @render-ready.com is literally right here

This is a bad excuse for lazy craftsmanship
Cmon man maybe you should double check your posts before towing the company line.

if you’re (rightly!) pissed at Firefox for doubling down on AI nonsense, as a web developer I would humbly request that you consider trying Waterfox, Orion or Safari before you move to something based on Chromium; Google are already too powerful, don’t hand the web to them
