I love this, so it cost more, took more time, looked worse and everyone STILL hated it. I can see why so many people think it’s the future 😂😂
The company behind the mcdonalds ad:

Imagine taking more time than it would take to do something traditionally. I bet it would take a builder longer to build a house out of jelly instead of brick, because jelly isn't brick.

Welp striking instacart off the list.

Somehow your mom did it, Sam.

Relatedly I'd like to punch both these mofos right in the triangle.

Nothing has changed. This tech is still douchie AF.
I love how the premise of trying again with a socially rejected product is now it's harder to recognise it

Terrible. Super terrible. I occasionally like to indulge in some fries but now I can't have nice things and it's AIs fault.

This is also not the brag the guys who created it think it is.
Looks like complete dogshit thanks

The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks while writing AI prompts and refining the shots — 'AI didn't make this film. We did'

Girl I'm still on Pandora.
Spotify is garbage on every count: Its treatment of artists, its ICE advertising, the CEO's investment in military AI, its leading role in the commodification and AI slopification of music, its terrible audio quality—you name it.

So I quit, and put together a complete guide to getting off Spotify:

This technology that people in school administrations and higher education are demanding everyone get behind because it's "the future" and "we just have to accept it," which is, nfn, the language of abuse.

Services aren't designed to be revenue generators. More grift and spin from the grifting spinners.
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

I’ve been thinking about the intellectual and affective labor involved in reading AI Generated student papers. I’m forecasting a little of the proposal that @cnygren.bsky.social and I advance in a piece that’ll be out soon but here’s where I’ve personally landed (o speak for myself not for us both):

This is how the racket WORKS - even if the numbers aren't being massaged (which they almost certainly are), they're also deliberately front-loaded so that all the good will come early, and the bad will be revealed once it's fully entrenched bsky.app/profile/elec...
Going by every tech trend of the past 30 years, the numbers will look great right until they hit a certain scale, then look very very bad, which is tough shit because by then it's already ingrained in our society and all but impossible to eliminate or even reduce
We don't need a gigantic Rube Goldberg system owned and operated by an aspiring monopoly just to increase safety, much less do what we should and actually figure out a way to use cars less (as opposed to supercharging their use, which this will)

I am exhausted by bigots spewing hate and ruining lives to get their 15 mins of fame.

Gross. Both of them. Gross.

Cosplay is complicated.
This FBI “pulse check” report on the dept under Patel and Bongino is a mixed bag - the fibbies love having no more sensitivity training but many hate going on ICE raids and think leadership is weak - but this anecdote is clearly gold: K$H Patel wearing the traditional FBI Director’s ladies clothes.

I've written a short comment regarding this new MIT study that is being passed around and why it is horseshit. "11.7% of US workforce is being replaced by AI" my ass. Thought that might be of interest. Also - thanks for all your work, you are one of the best resources out there.

The emperor has never had clothes.
my “AI is over” anecdote is that my wife was hired over the summer to write scripts for a big tech company explaining how to use their AI tools and after many rounds of revisions, the latest notes said “we’re finding a lot of AI fatigue among our users” and to remove all references to AI
Anecdotally on twitter seeing a big shift the last few days from every AI slop account saying every other creative field is “over” and they’re in control now to now posting about how nobody likes them and it’s not fair and they’ll persevere and real artists respect and uplift eachother
