RE "Transsexual": I think the focus on enbies is mostly a red herring but it feels absurd that we have to shape our civil rights language around reassuring people that staying in the closet their entire life isn't the worst mistake they will ever make.

I have compassion for Talia, sure, I don't have a personal beef. But she doesn't extend that compassion to me, doesn't want to. What's being asked for isn't compassion, it's deference. It's to let some people beat up on us over and over without being allowed to say anything or we're "cold".

It's normal and probably for the best there isn't actually A Trans Community here because being trans isn't a personality or ideology. Trans women never ran Bluesky and I guess it was stupid for me personally to believe in a kind of solidarity that was never extended to me except conditionally.

So glad to see so many trans people start to articulate what's wrong with the "gender and sex are different" style rhetoric that cis allies have been using the past 10 years. It's been actively damaging.
idk i think trans ppl should be able to say we're just like this. we've had years of "gender as performance" "gender as social construct" talking points becoming increasingly popular but that shit is never applied to cis ppl the same way it is to us

Building our own trans networks is so important because the lack of them is how the "Transgender Tipping Point" got fumbled. Trans activism was mediated by the legacy queer orgs behind gay marriage who, being cis, didn't understand/want to change how trans identities are fundamentally perceived.
Our window for public communications based campaigning was 10 years ago and closed maybe 3 years ago. We have an incredibly vibrant social scene full of community groups making life viable for trans people but to have any impact on policy we need more than having a trans Tory on GB news occasionally

The right for children to avoid life-altering developmental injury that demonstrably affects their survivability is not a hypothetical for me. I grew up looking at another trans person's self-harm scars. I probably would have drank myself to death if I didn't have a doctor who cared about me.

We have the PA turnout data. Dems lost this election on voter registration over the 4 year cycle, and turnout. And for the first presidential election in what is likely a very long time, the total turnout from registered GOPs exceeded that of Dems.
