Not trying to stoke division, but underline a lesson. Remember the high-decibel whining over the years about the Minneapolis City Council expressing solidarity with various oppressed people? ”Stay in your lane!” Remember how sustaining this outside support feels right now as we face the gun barrels.
The march is now passing the Chicago city hall / Cook County hall building. The chant goes up,

"Minnesota don't you fear, we, the people, are right here"

@weatherapplied.com does measure the wind impact of every fly ball. Also, for every pitch.

Tommy Pham makes his case for MLB’s next big metric: He calls it PhamGraphs
Pham proposes a statistical system that would account for how often a hitter faces high-leverage relievers and how defenders cope with wind.

Line 1: I don't think...that we should put 50-60 million dollars into this team.

Next sentence: The hard work in front of us is getting fans to buy into that we are committed to a championship-caliber investment and team.

THEY ARE THE SAME THING
I asked Tom Pohlad about his repeated use of the word "relentless" in regard to winning and how he can square that with dramatically decreased payrolls over the past several years and a current payroll around $100 million.

Pohlad's response:

Another quality projection system thinks the Twins are fine. Another 15 million dollars could really make this team competitive in a weak division.

David Popkins' approach to hitting is all about finding solutions.

If you identify what the true issue is and you take a little bit from everywhere, you’re able to help more people.

Bringing this approach to the Blue Jays and the transformational results made him our MLB Coach of the Year.

If true (and when have the Pohlads ever misled people) this is the best Twins news in a while. This division is weak, it's not out of reach if they don't just give up.

Well written as always by Baseball America, but a little concerning what patterns emerge in their assessment. Of their top 10:

- 6 are viewed as injury risks
- 7 are maxed out physically
- 4 have other development red flags

It's just one list, but not a great look for a team betting on the farm.
