So much of our infrastructure, planning, environmental, and road safety measures seem to be based around politicians' fear of slightly inconveniencing easily-angered motorists. Pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport users are barely considered in their calculations.

The leftwing Saskatchewan NDP under Roy Romanow did this in the 90s (hospitals they built too!) and they’ve been shut out of power for almost 20 years by a right wing party that took full political advantage of what these closures did to the NDP’s rural base.

Heroic.
More unions need to stand up to the State and it's imposed state of Canadian Labour Relations Law. Such systems were codified to prevent effective union resistance.

Legalize sympathy strikes.

I pray I may yet live to see One Big Union rise again.

My argument is to abolish the 3-level worker status model (employee-dependent contractor-independent contractor) & replace it with:

True Entrepreneur OR Worker

If work on own account then “Worker” & protected by worker protection laws unless it’s demonstrated you’re engaged in a true business.
Small labour law changes can make a difference. Card check and reclassifying workers as employees (not the more ambiguous dependent contractor model) can make a huge difference.

Knowing some Cree-Syllabics makes Dune's graphic design really funny.

Verbatim, since Dune's graphic design uses symbols also used in Cree-Syllabic, Dune's title art spells:
tatetita [the english letter O]ta totetita.

Which is to say: She tatetita on my toteita till I Néhiyaw.
my favourite ever is this one:
