A recent NYRB issue contained an essay on the overreach of "woke."
Could we just not use that word?
Nobody agrees on what it means.
It is mostly a pejorative.

How do you pronounce consortium?
I pronounce it with a definite ’t’ whereas a cast including Kevin Bacon in a minor movie all pronounced it:
con•sauce•sheum.

The remuneration is *supposed* to balance out the risk and responsibility, but I see no accountability for leadership failings. Until there is accountability why t f are they scalping such massive pay?
