Statement Re: OU Discrimination Investigation

Today, my client, Mel Curth, submitted her appeal of the University's Institutional Equity Office finding that she engaged in arbitrary and capricious grading of a student's assignment in violation of that student's religious liberty.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

there is no moral universe in which someone who ran on QAnon and supported a coup is pro-democracy, and if there is, it’s worse than worthless
The pro-democracy movement needs to include factions which we disagree with vehemently on all other matters.

That’s the point of a pro-democracy movement—we aren’t aligned on the direction of our society, but we all agree we should have a right to contest it freely and fairly.

It would not be difficult, practically speaking, for someone from within the journalist/commentary clique whom Suzanne considers peers, to drop her an email and ask her what the 'killing off' of 'trans ideology' would look like, in real terms, including and especially for those immediately affected.

Reminder that years ago it was found out that the FBI straight up made up a whole bunch of fake forensic sciences, plural. People have gone to jail and been executed due to literally pseudoscience.

Hair forensics, for instance, is totally nonsense.

They admitted it.

Reminder that The Guardian has a financial partnership with openAI so they have a vested interest in trying to paint this shit in a positive light.

You can't trust a single thing they say about it whatsoever

Quote this with what you have accomplished in 2025, no matter how big or small
Reading & writing has kept me alive this year.

Somehow, it’s been my most productive year as an author.

Here’s a guide to what I’ve published in 2025, in case you’ve lost track.

In 2026 let’s normalize masking for public health.

If we could admit that with healthcare being gutted, vaccine access restricted and previously eradicated diseases coming back… having an extra layer like a respirator makes good sense.

Let’s also normalize not mocking people who mask!

Arguments that any technology "can't be put back in the bottle" are always the stupidest thing I've ever heard

We put asbestos back in the bottle

We put lead paint back in the bottle

We put leaded gas back in the bottle

Why can't we put AI back in as well? Just demolish the data centers!

All labour is skilled. Some skills are harder to learn than others, but no labour is unskilled.
your semi regular reminder that "unskilled labor" is a phrase made up by rich assholes to devalue whatever YOU are good at for the sole purpose of extracting more profit

Doesn't it strike you as strange that the people who shout long and loud that America is a Christian nation founded on Christian principles are the very people who don't want Christ's teachings of tolerance, pacifism, and generosity codified in law?

I think it’s telling that:

1. When an issue becomes “political” instinct is give it to the politics desk, not prioritize the writers w subject matter expertise

2. They said in recent q&a they see their role as challenging their readers views—fundamentally at odds w prioritizing truth/informing

ADHD is when you have to “pay attention” but you can’t “pay,” because you’re broke. But, on the plus side, you have a million dollars in gift cards to the one thing you feel like doing.

Furthermore, every time you de-prioritize a trans actor because of that identity (keeping them out of roles because you're worried they're too "political"), you've discriminated against that actor. Period.

Every time a trans actor books work, that is a step forward. Not backwards.

Those of you who see things otherwise should turn the fuck around.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have shown Alzheimer’s disease can be REVERSED- not just prevented. Using a potent neuroprotective compound called P7C3-A20, they found RESTORING balance to a central cellular energy molecule (NAD+) not only PREVENTED disease features but REVERSED them, EVEN at late stages.

Why is it that tech and AI boosters keep saying "you can't put the genie back in the bottle" when making arguments about AI's supposed inevitable dominance? Did they not read the story? The genie does, indeed, go back in the bottle. Maybe we should start there.
