Crashes have multiple causes, but “by far and away, it’s speed that is the biggest contributor to pedestrian deaths and injuries,” the Active Transportation Alliance’s Maggie Czerwinski said.

I'm just going to keep saying this until I die:

In a white supremacist patriarchy, you have value only insofar as you serve the white supremacist patriarchy.

Kyle Rittenhouse & Ashli Babbitt did. Renee Good & Alex Pretti didn't. On Jan 6, the insurrectionists did. The cops didn't.

Rinse, repeat.
The people who spent years defending and even lionizing Kyle Rittenhouse and Ashli Babbitt now want us to believe that an unarmed mother in her car and a disarmed nurse were domestic terrorists who deserved to be murdered by law enforcement.

I like this explanation of conservatives' inability to produce good art
Trumpists know what is popular, but have no clue why it’s popular, so they ape at the things that look cool, not understanding any subtext.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

As I’m sure most of you know, I’m a huge ww2 nerd. This type of resistance and community organizing is like what you’d read from Anne Frank, the Dutch, and the French as their communities resisted the Nazis.

Except it’s happening right now. In Minnesota.

by @democraticwins.bsky.social CNN just aired a devastating compilation of all the times ICE brutally attacked Americans. Remember, Donald Trump sponsored this. This is done at his command.

Many friends asking what it is like in Minnesota right now. This video-clip tells. Masked men w/ guns in ordinary places (gas stations, grocery stores, cruising streets) intimidating ordinary people & instilling fear. As a terrorism expert, I think about the logic of government instilling fear.

I like this both on a humanitarian level and a "fuck you MAGA" level.
In addition to abolishing ICE and criminal investigations, we need to think about reparations for those who survive being brutalized by the regime.

I would suggest, at a minimum, permanent legal status for anyone injured or detained for more than 24 hours regardless of criminal background.

The way that these guys are being constantly embarrassed, pushed around, and mobbed in a way they absolutely cannot control by the public in an increasingly dramatic fashion is giving me hope.
Today at the Whipple Federal Building in Minnesota while federal agents rushed the protest crowd, one agent is filmed pushing a protester and slipping on ICE. Another agent has his pepperball gun broken and he slips on the cartridge holder while dropping pepperballs all over.

The main bank account holding revenue from the Venezuelan oil sales is located in Qatar.

“There is no basis in law for a president to set up an offshore account that he controls so that he can sell assets seized by the American military,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
