We're primarying John Fetterman.

Last week, Fetterman again sold out working Pennsylvanians. He was the deciding vote for a Republican budget bill that will strip healthcare from over 400,000 Pennsylvanians.

We deserve real working class leadership in the Senate, not a Trump-enabling Democrat.

BREAKING: Our client Mario Guevara, an Emmy-winning journalist detained by ICE in retaliation for livestreaming law enforcement activity, will be deported tomorrow to El Salvador.

Mario and his family are being punished for his reporting. This cruelty is meant to stifle our free press.

I will say that I find it weird that a lot of people are like "this is the moment that will tip us into violence" when a Minnesota politician was assassinated in her home 2 months ago and someone literally shot Trump in the head last year. how exactly is charlie kirk the tipping point

one thing i keep thinking about is how there is simply no way to design a constitutional system that can resist authoritarian incursion if participants in that system do not actually care that much

i wish the political press were more conversant in american religion because there is a story to write about the inverted christianity that predominates among the new right, postliberal set
The Vice President of the United States is trashing some random professor over his imagined IQ score, all while revealing himself to be the sort of dude who reads fundamentalist Catholic homeschooling blogs instead of, say, the Pauline epistles.

one of the things i hate most about "originalism" as a supposed methodology is that the practice of it rests on the idea that it takes the specialized knowledge of a special elite to be able to understand the plain language of the constitution.

reminds me of an essay i know in argument theory about the "epistemological filibuster" which is often used to discuss how "we need more evidence" arguments are used to kick the can down the road and prevent more action on various technical questions...this is weirdly that but with "inventing a guy"

it is, effectively, a view that nothing should be done to solve any problem if there might be a trade-off somewhere for someone who you could code as “marginalized.” it is just anti-government conservatism with a different aesthetic!

low key the most egregious condescension is this idea that conservatives do not have agency and are not making choices but are purely reactive and have no mind of their own
if you live around conservatives, a common bumper sticker reads “liberalism is a mental disorder.” you’ll see effigies of dem politicians, unhinged screeds about satan-worshipping dems written on lawn signs. this stuff gets ignored while any hint of condescension from liberals is treated as endemic

Many people think that as you get older, you care less about politics. But it’s not true.

You start thinking a lot more about the kind of world you want to leave behind. You want it to be better than the one you were born into.

We all have a personal legacy in mind. Mine is to outlive Trumpism.
