Historical revisionism about COVID-19 and the public health response is now mainstream. The next pandemic will likely be even harder to manage due to a relentless propaganda campaign to weaken public support for masking, vaccines, social distancing, etc.
This is genuinely horrifying. Fact-free far-right agitprop given accolades by credible media across the political spectrum.

"Most Americans have no idea of the variety of ways universal coverage works"

The fact that we HAVE Billionaires like Mark Cuban is why we don't have healthcare and why no one can explain how it works.

Hope this helps.
Cuban is asking a legit question. Most Americans have no idea of the variety of ways universal coverage works, often thinking it’s all single payer while actually that’s a very unusual model internationally. In fact, Canada’s approach is unlike Germany’s and that’s unlike Great Britain’s. 1/2

In case you missed it, I released a game where you follow somebody's notes to draw a map of their hike🗺️

Playable on both PC and mobile, no downloads.

You can also ignore the instructions and just make maps for fun.

Fun facts about Norwegian elkhounds:

1. There are no elk in Norway

2. the original name, “elghund” means moosehound

3. Americans got confused and went with “elkhound”

4. Nonetheless, elkhounds do hunt elk where there are elk

Just for example, there are some accounts of violent sexual child exploitation I read trying to understand the Josh Duggar stuff and sometimes I will look at my toddler and be like, she is that age, and remember.

And it's hard to overstate how viscerally upsetting that is.
And as several folks are saying in the comments: curiosity about the Epstein files is understandable, but just for yourself personally, think carefully about what you want in your head forever.

It will come to you later in upsetting ways that you may not expect.

I promise you- people think they want to know the lurid details- they don't. I spent 30 years reading accounts of CA/SA and that shit never leaves your head.
I'm interested in knowing who was on public payroll and didn't do their jobs. And I'm happy to wait for the truth so it sticks.

Someone shared an image of ICE agents using fake snow to cover their license plates, since it’s easier than swapping them all the time, and I thought “when I was 12, that would probably have sounded clever”, and I then realized it’s a whole secret police of Mall Ninjas.

speaking of muses,

5) the muse visits during, not before. not always true, shower ideas are real, but a lot of the time the act of writing will create more ideas than just sitting around daydreaming. and then, your brain will associate the physiological act of writing with idea generation.

3) rest is part of the process. the act of stopping allows you to recharge and approach your next session energized

4) while it is tempting to let inspiration carry you until the muse stops dictating, stopping while you still have more to say is a decent motivator to make you want to get back to it

2) exercise. the mind lives in the brain and the brain is a bag of chemicals that is dependent on the bag of meat it lives in. also rsi sucks, do your stretches and watch your posture. i permanently injured a muscle in my back years ago from using a laptop on the floor and it still twinges.

here are some actual, really useful pieces of writing advice that i've read from other people + some of mine. these really reshaped how i viewed writing

1) living your life is research. anything you listen to, watch, overhear, read, experience, survive, that can become material.

a lot of writing advice is shit. magical results if you follow this 1-sentence promise. show! write every day! character driven! they're flat because either they're 1) focused on being glib instead of being 2) actionable, like, wtf does character-driven even mean 3) unrealistic. every day?
what is your least favorite piece of writing advice and why? 👀
