I haven't seen the same outpouring of support for Rodney Hinton, Jr. that we saw for Luigi Mangione. GoFundMe took down the fundraiser for Hinton, who is accused of killing an officer shortly after he watched bodycam footage of police killing his 18-year-old son.

This isn’t a good idea even if the plane was being donated to the U.S. government. But Trump GETS TO KEEP THE PLANE??? It’s simply a cash payment to Trump in exchange for favors. Just wildly illegal.

We are a deeply unserious country that inexplicably continues to tolerate banana republic levels of corruption across all three branches of the federal government.
Your reminder that the continued participation of Bob Menendez & Clarence Thomas in American politics highlights just how deeply unserious we are as a country.
What a choice of words.

Daniel Ziblatt--co-author of the book on how democracies die--is alarmed by the success so far of Trump's attempted murder. He discusses loyalists in power ministries,
consolidation of personal power, and the abdication by political and civic elites.

I highly recommend it.

“Our profit from the post office is the post office.” Really wish every story we get about cost “overruns” and “losses” from USPS included this framing.

I think it’s not great that the reason we don’t get more concrete action or even rhetoric around the staggering corruption we see is that so many of our politicians want a piece of it for themselves

Arresting homeless people doesn't solve homelessness. It doesn't go after the root causes. It's whack a mole with a heavy amount of civil and human rights violations.

Since the Grants Pass decision we've seen a lot of California city governments embrace these violations. They hate seeing poverty

It's true! Bondi was a registered lobbyist for foreign clients, including the government of Qatar - which is now giving Trump a jet. tinyurl.com/mr36frb8

Bondi is the first AG to have been a lobbyist for foreign governments. (She also disbanded the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force.)
I’m sorry, what now?
Pam Bondi was getting $115,000 a month to lobby for Qatar before she left to defend Donald Trump:

Hate to break it but this isn’t even the largest act of personal self-enrichment by an American public official this month. www.reuters.com/world/middle...

It's 2015. President Barack Obama has accepted a "sky palace" jumbo jet from the Qatari government, which he'll own after he leaves office. "Everybody relax," he says in an interview with the New York Times. Everyone does. The networks then televise the military parade in his honor on his birthday.

I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.

Is Kilmar Abrego Garcia alive? Because the amount of resistance to addressing his being trafficked gives the distinct impression that either he is dead or what they have done to him is so unspeakable that they cannot afford for him to be freed, seen, or spoken with.
