Make noise folks, we haven't forgotten about that hacking incident even if it was under specific circumstances.
Past few days I got hit on discord with age verification prompt despite not being a resident of UK/Aus.

It appears it's currently worldwide, done at random, not all users receive it, and - for now - it's limited to the desktop app. Editing preference options is locked until I surrender my id.

Please keep calling your reps to demand they oppose KOSA and other internet censorship bills!
It appears that some members of the Democratic Party are supporting KOSA.

The act purports to be about protecting children, but it could weaponize Trump's FTC to target LGBTQ+ content on the internet.

Evan Greer writes for EITM: "KOSA’s re-emergence comes during a moment of existential crisis for the Democratic party."

The reason why anti-furry sentiment is so sus is because most furry characters are 99% human. Bipedal, expressive faces, human junk. So if you look at something that's basically you but with slight aesthetic differences, with *revulsion,* it's kind of a red flag!
if you haven't seen the "anti-furry bills" you are not paying attention to what anti-trans bills are justified with: "Identifying as cats and dogs" "putting cat litter in schools".
You need to be unapologetically defensive of both, or as they DO simply claim trans=furry, you'll have no defence.

Last year, KOSA passed the Senate 91-3 but died in the House because civil liberties groups recognized it for what it is: a censorship bill disguised as child protection.

TikTok is removing clips of the leaked 60 Minutes segment.

The Ellison family (which acquired Paramount — CBS’s parent company — and The Free Press, making Bari Weiss Editor-in-Chief of CBS) is set to co-own TikTok through a Trump-backed deal.

I cannot stress enough that most ppl don't ever even think about calling their reps. I talk to ppl in my fam about it and they go "Huh? What?". But your reps work for YOU. They need to know what you actually care about. When we call in big numbers it ALERTS them, cuz they rarely hear from us.
Hey romancelandia and fandom peeps! If you live in the U.S. right now you should know that KOSA (along with a slew of censorship bills) are advancing through congress right now. If you care about spicy books and/or fanfiction you should contact your reps right now and tell them to vote NO on KOSA!

what is extra frustrating about the continued efforts to kill it is that none of them understand this

everyone attacking it is convinced that killing section 230 will allow them to remove some part of the internet that they don't like, be it content moderation or sex predators, but it's much worse
Bluntly, Section 230 is almost literally the law that the entire internet rests upon, it makes it possible for user generated content to exist on the internet, it’s incredibly important, and genuinely we must defend it at all costs. This place literally would not exist without it.

Finally, a new government report has affirmed it: major banks wrongly discriminated against adult businesses.

I 100% did not expect the govt to point at banks on behalf of the adult industry. We need to leverage the hell out of this

Remember Mastercard and Visa blaming "banking partners"? If banks face repercussions their alibis could start crumbling as they get pinched between angry consumers and the feds
Holy shit. Remember the Trump debanking EO? The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency identified adult entertainment as one such industry facing unfair treatment from banks. This is huge

The article is well worth a read; this information would never have come to light were it not for Steam's AI disclosure policy, and the game looks to be a rushed cash grab not involving Grasshopper studio.

This is why CEOs dont like AI disclosures, they want to be able to discreetly serve slop
The Let it Die sequel - Let it Die: Inferno - which is coming out next week (4th December), seems to have been built using a considerable amount of generative AI. https://bit.ly/4ol7lIA
