This can’t be repaired for the same reason why nothing in British politics and media can ever be fixed: the people responsible are not going to censure and fire themselves and each other. Which is the only way that any of it can ever be made better, by removing the people who made it like this.

Again: all of this is elite radicalisation and none of it is organically arising from the public. It is MPs and the press flame-grilling their own brains on social media, then inflicting their poisonous spiteful idiocy upon everyone.

We - the British press - have absolutely fucked it and turned politics into daily breaking news from the cludgie Gestapo, because we were all very angry about being disrespected and not getting our way. This is sad but apparently it’s nobody’s fault.

This protest has been organised by Norwich Trans Pride following a recent ban on trans women joining the Women's Institute and Girlguiding.

I just watched the Kuenssberg interview with Mary-Ann Stephenson in full, and congrats, it's actually far, far worse than the BBC news summary captures.

Having appeared on it three times, I can 100% confirm that @robinince.bsky.social *IS* the #InfiniteMonkeyCage.

Without him, it doesn’t even exist as a concept 🤷🏾‍♂️
I just want to say @robinince.bsky.social is the very best of humans. How the BBC could have a problem with him is beyond me. The IMC will wither on the vine without the rich, nutritious value of Robin's brain. Go see him perform, and buy all his books. Your soul will feel like it has been hugged.

Robin Ince reveals to last night’s audience at a recording of Infinite Monkey Cage that the BBC has forced him to resign over his support of trans people

Robin Ince once more showing what an amazing person he is. It's tragic that we are in a world where opposing transphobia and hate means having to resign, while being transphobic and hateful means getting regularly featured by national media outlets.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Absolutely ridiculous that you felt you had to resign when so many nasty, twisted people flourish at a much higher level in the BBC.

"Inform, Educate and Entertain"

@robinince.bsky.social embodies the BBC'S mission statement perfectly, but apparently they think he's problematic for being a decent human being who stands up for marginalised people and speaks out against injustice.

If you haven't read Stanley Baxter's authorised biography, I highly recommend that you do. May have to give it a re-read, myself.

The idea that trans people's distress might be reduced does not sit comfortably with Wes Streeting.

Chair says "have English as a second language"

Solidarity with the hunger strikers.

It is an egregious violation for them to be held on remand - without trial or conviction.

All for protesting against a genocide. Shameful.
