No matter HOW much time you spent on something - no matter how much of your skill and practice went into being able to do it - a complete stranger can IMMEDIATELY copy it into any number of things, take credit for it, and profit from it.

For further context twitter added a button that allows users to generate ai images using existing art posts from artists. It removes glaze and it basically reskins the artwork by using the existing work as a base. Twitter is no longer a safe space for art

As a child of a lifelong smoker, you get nose blind to it.
Thankfully if you don't pick up the habit your nose will re-adjust, but I suspect back in the days where smoking was very common literally everywhere, few people noticed the due to the cigarette tar coating practically everything.

I've produced thousands of pages of comics over a career that has lasted nearly 30 years. I have NEVER been able to do it 'full time' but that hasn't stopped me from doing my thing. Even if I'm slow because of work, I never stop. My output rivals many 'pros'. Make the comics of your dreams.
Very, very few comic book creators can survive on just the money they make from comics. It is an inherently unstable job and it is only getting worse as time goes on. Don't ever be embarrassed or ashamed of needing another job so that you can keep making comics.
