“I don’t know what’s going on and nobody does” is such a telling thing to throw in there. I think everyone knows exactly what’s going on? Also why would your dad send you a hundred texts saying the same thing

The fascists have assessed that they have nothing to worry about from National Democratic elected politicians. In fact, if they were ever to retake nominal power, many of them will do what they can to destroy their own voters who insist on action against the fascists.

there's a weird feedback loop where the media's reaction to kirk's death pushes you to speak more ill of the dead than you otherwise would because it's the only reasonable response to the simpering praise they're heaping on him

Anybody who is happy about this is a disgusting human.’ Pop Crave Tweet: ‘Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy says he hopes a missile hits Greta Thunberg’s boat as she sails away with aid: “I hope they hit a f*cking, like, a missile on her boat. Said it before and I'll say it again: I do not think a legal profession that venerates the Supreme Court has a clear way of dealing with a Supreme Court justice as dumb as Brett Kavanaugh. This is the jurisprudential equivalent of him writing his name at the top in crayon with the "E" backwards.

This is a paragraph Brett Kavanaugh wrote on his little computer and then sent out into the world:

Moreover, as for stops of those individuals who are legally in the country, the questioning in those circumstances is typically brief, and those individuals may promptly go free after making clear to the immigration officers that they are U.S. citizens or otherwise legally in the United States.

How fortunate we are that the United States is so bereft of serious crimes that we can afford to have FBI agents standing around the Metro all day watching for turnstile-jumpers.

I want you to imagine a world where Chuck Schumer looked for the most disgusting single location in South Dakota, a yard, a garage, an abandoned building, and posted “This is how these people live 🤢 “ and imagine the national response. This is what 100s of conservative leaders do every day to cities

Here’s the RNC asking its donors if they’ve ever been to the big city, which it calls “rat and feces infested gang headquarters for illegal immigrants.” (Many of its donors live in big cities.)
Debbie, have you ever been to the big city?

Maybe it was New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago. When we were growing up, our cities were beacons of American exceptionalism.

But thanks to Democrat politicians, they’re now rat and feces infested gang headquarters for illegal immigrants.

One important difference being that the Republicans know how to harness the energy of their ultra-ideological flank, while the Democrats spend incredible amounts of energy and money trying to neutralize theirs.

The Tea Party protests in April 2009 had about a third of a million people involved, and the political media treated it like a game changer for the Obama presidency.

The No Kings rallies were AT LEAST ten times bigger than the Tea Party protests. Will the press keep pretending Trump is popular?
gelliottmorris.com
Based on crowd-sourced records of No Kings Day event turnout, and extrapolating for the cities where we don't have data yet, it looks like roughly 4-6 million people protested Trump across the U.S. yesterday. That's nearly 2% of the U.S. pop!

Mobilized anti-Trump resistance is exceeding 2017 levels

Yup. They'll send a legitimately awful US citizen to CECOT, and anyone who criticizes it will be accused of supporting the awful person... and then they'll send someone slightly less awful. Eventually, they'll have established that they can send anyone.
esqueer.net
The next step for Trump is to send a US citizen convicted of something like child murder and rape to CECOT in El Salvador. It'll set the precedent to send citizens there while neutralizing outrage over it because of the heinous nature of their crimes. Then it'll any felony and then protestors.
