I love living in a country where there's no way to avoid having these people imposed on us even if we reject them at the ballot box. Either through constant media tours like Jon Ashworth or appointment to the Lords like this.
there was absolutely no chance Faiza Shaheen would not have have won this seat and removed Iain Duncan Smith from Parliament. Sir Kier risked it to install a right winger instead, then when the gamble was lost appointed her to the Lords anyway.

When I talk to my students about law and resistance, I talk about how people tend to think in terms of whether they would’ve acted in 1942, but that they should instead ask themselves what they would’ve done in 1933.
“I think we have to be careful with the Nazi comparisons” people are always waiting until we are five minutes until the Holocaust and then they’re like well it’s only ethnic cleansing not a Holocaust
Is this clear enough or are we still doing that whole thing where we pretend it’s about “crime”?

Huge respect to the papers for finding both an 88 year old worried about the tax bill on her 6 bedroom Kensington house and a 20 year old fretting about only being able to save £12k a year tax free.
Top work all around. These are not easy case studies to find.

Only Doctor Hans Zarkov, formerly at NASA, has provided any explanation
This is pretty massive.

There is scant detail so far but they say "solar radiation" has caused problems for some aircraft.

This *could* be related to single-event upsets, where cosmic rays trigger computer errors. I've asked Airbus if they can share more detail.

Weird answer; I don’t understand the strategy here at all - why not just deny it outright? Is this a dog whistle to his audience I’m not hearing? A nod and a wink that ‘we all say that behind closed doors’?

Here's the thing, if you do not want to see a Reform government, don't tell people they have to choose which chopping block to put their head on. Actually give them something positive to vote for. Right now, Labour is just another party punching down for political points. They deserve to lose. 12/

Remember when Nigel Farage said that Reform would deport children and people were, rightly, up in arms? Where's that outrage now that Labour are saying they will do the same thing, to children born in this country? A bad policy doesn't become good just because "your side" made it. 11/

Now: oh, that WAS the future
the actual suicide of the West will be combining a rapidly aging population with hostility to migrants. however we must give credit to East Asia, especially Japan, for pioneering this model.

Pro tip - landlordism is inherently exploitative, especially in a situation where access to housing is insecure and in crisis. So while it’s possible to be a “nice” landlord, it’s not possible to be a “good” landlord.
Not fair to brand all landlords as 'parasites'. I'm a fair landlord (keep my rents low and my properties in good condition) in an area that is short on affordable properties. I've no quarrel with bad landlords being outed but this type of generalisation is unfair.

Not that anyone will learn a single thing from this, but let it serve as yet another example of the futility of trying to appease right-wing extremists. No matter how much you try to meet them halfway, they will still paint you as insufficiently servile to their ideology.
