Neoliberals like stancil and others are not just unable to understand good ideas it is they are actively repulsed by the idea of any kind of collective good. Any benefit that helps vast swaths of the population without an added benefit for the wealthy and business is seen as a joke and a threat.
at a deep instinctive level they can't recognise popular ideas or take them seriously
