Garlic bread bowl

1 1/4th cup warm water
1 tsp honey
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
2 TBSP evoo
400 grams bread flour
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp minced garlic
1 egg

Bloom yeast with honey and water.
Sauté garlic in evoo, strain out garlic. Allow to cool. Add to liquids.
Whisk dry stuff.

From 1943 The Modern Family Cookbook by MEta Givens STUFFED CABBAGE ROLLS 1 small head of cabbage 1 egg, beaten 1 lb. ground beef ½ cup milk 2 teaspoons chopped onion 1 teaspoon salt Trim off soiled leaves of cabbage and remove core. Cover with boiling water and let stand 5 minutes or until cabbage leaves are limp. Separate leaves carefully reserving five of the largest leaves for the rolls. Combine meat thoroughly with onion, egg, milk, and salt. Place ⅕ of the meat mixture on each leaf and fold up envelope fashion. Fasten with toothpick. Lay, flap down, in Dutch oven or saucepan. Add ½ cup water, and cover rolls with rest of cabbage leaves. Simmer, covered, for 1 hour. Serve with Tomato Sauce. 5 servings. Variation: The cabbage rolls may be browned delicately in butter or drippings before adding rest of cabbage leaves and the water.

Irísh Stew from The Fannie Farmer Cookbook 1965 Authentic Irish Stew needs no thickening except the potato cooked in it, but if you prefer a thicker gravy, mix ¼ cup flour with ¼ cup cold water, pour into the finished stew, and cook and stir until the gravy is smooth and thick. Cube or cut into serving-size pieces 2 pounds stewing lamb Cover with boiling water, cover, and simmer 1 hour. Add ½ cup cubed carrot ½ cup cubed turnip 1 onion, sliced 1 potato, cubed Cover and simmer ½ hour. Add 2 cups sliced potato Cover, simmer ½ hour, and season to taste with Salt and pepper Serves 6
