I'm a bit of a mess
Pinned
Just came across a post that made me realize I never introduced myself here.

I'm Camila, former #biomedical #scientist now supporting #startups and collaborations in #innovation.

I'm a Canadian currently living in Europe, and as you can see from my pic, I don't believe #COVID is over.
Imagine going back one month in time and telling any of the people who have been agitating about Epstein that, actually, governments and media all around the world would shrug their shoulders when Musk's platform became a prolific creator and distributor of CSAM, or essentially pedophile haven

💯 Worth noting, as well, that just because Maduro was himself an "undesirable" does not justify breaching the UN Charter. If we are to have the rule of law, it must apply everywhere equally - just like due process applies to criminals, not just to the innocent.

Carney is right to worry about a bad trade deal, but he should be even more worried about what happens when the US starts demanding that Canadian leaders fall in line, or else...

Entirely unimportant in the grand scheme of things, but seeing this man look like Dorian Gray's portrait in the attic feels like a (so tiny it's almost non-existent) vindication.

Evil really freaking ages you.

Uh... what authority does a US Court (also, when did that happen anyway?) have over boats in Venezuelan or international waters, exactly?

Is Rubio dumb enough to think repeating that makes it true?

Why are you (any of you, I guess, meaning whoever picked this headline) letting him frame this by calling it the Donroe Doctrine?

President Zelenskyy on Maduro:

What can I say here? If this can be done to dictators, like that, then the United States of America know what they should do next.

I understand that the US is not a signatory to this, but what exactly stops them being charged? This is no longer the world of 2003, and the US is no longer a trusted ally for most of the world, so the calculation on avoiding the optics of a possible invasion of the Hague must be quite different now
I am once again insisting that the US must submit to the jurisdiction of the ICJ.

Ok, so US trade BS is (hopefully finally!!!) over, the AI bubble is coming, and Canada's housing bubble is well on its way to popping. Harper was a POS, but his policies, and Carney's at the Bank of Canada, did manage to somewhat protect Canada from the last "1x/century crash"). What's the plan now?

That Jafar look-alike MFer is 30? If you told me 60, I would believe you.
An office charged with protecting whistleblowers. Who does Donald Trump choose to lead it?
NEW: The nominee to run the Office of Special Counsel shared a 911 truther video last year on *911*, has ties to a holocaust denier, and said in a video we uncovered that straight white men are the smartest group and should be prioritized. He’s 30.

I know I'm ignoring a lot of other data here, but damn, if it isn't sadly hilarious to frame "(some) men are finally making as little as women" as a tragedy for the men, and not for the women who have seen absolutely no progress

Was today "unveil the conservative/asshole within" day for the @liberalca.bsky.social Party, or what?

Bro, what don't you understand about these being treaties between EQUALS? And how have you forgotten/chosen to ignore what previous "nation-building projects" wrought on our treaty partners?

Oh man. This is probably the fastest I've regretted gritting my teeth and voting for the liberals in my life.

"Complicated." Jesus F. Christ, this is embarrassing.

Do NYT journalists grow up hoping to work for the paper of record and in the process completely abandon even the semblance of journalistic integrity, or is this more of a slippery slope phenomenon?

This is the worst framing I've ever seen. This "trade war" is not between the US and China, it's between the US and the rest of the world. What else could Latin America do? Side with the guy currently attacking them?
(Bloomberg) - In the tit-for-tat trade war between the US and China, Latin America is siding with Beijing.

I'm sorry, did this idiot say Harvard has $52 million dollars and that should be enough? I'm pretty sure my PhD cost about $1.5 million over 5 years, not including any infrastructure costs.

So I guess, good luck to the 30-35 PhD students Harvard will train until 2030! Godspeed!

Boo-fucking-hoo... you're not going to make ANYONE feel bad for Musk, you know that, right?

Oh, wittwe baby, did buying your way into the white house and destroying US governance take too much effort from mommy's special boy?
Politics has been central to Elon Musk’s identity over much of the past year, but his latest obsession has faded into disenchantment over the personal costs and difficulties in producing results, said two people familiar with his thinking in recent months.
Tired of political attacks, Musk turns back to Mars and autonomous cars
As he retreats from Washington, Elon Musk says he will spend “a lot less” on politics. Close advisers says he is eager to return to prior obsessions.

I'm sorry, drug companies are now selling cars into the US? It's this like that 30 Rock bit about NBC being a subsidiary of a wig company?

Is it something like the BMW/Pfizer conglomerate or Renault/Sanofi corporation? And, for curiosity's sake, are there any wig companies involved?

This is awful, but also kind of hilarious that it has happened repeatedly, with little fuss, and only once they stepped into the literary world did it become a scandal (but also, wow, way to embody all the worst things that concern people about AI use)
There's a whole lot of this throughout the entire Sun-Times Summer 2025 section, I can't find most of the people or publications referred to or quoted in any of this (some of the publications exist but i can't find the cited people in them)

Hassan did a very good job, but shouldn't she have also reminded Noem that lying to Congress is considered perjury?
Q: "If POTUS tries to suspend habeas corpus and a federal court reverses the president's order, will you comply?"

Noem: "We are following all federal court orders."

Q: "That is not true for anybody who reads the news."

Noem: "I wouldn't rely on the news for your facts."
