A historic day for Virginia – proud to unveil the new statue of Barbara Johns, a student who bravely led the fight for school integration, which will be permanently displayed in the Capitol.

Amidst so much darkness, it’s a reminder that in many ways, we’re still moving forward.

What oil, what land, what assets did Venezuela steal from the US? And when? A social media post from an alternative reality.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

Two babies were born in New York within a year of each other, soon after WWII.

One, Rob Reiner, lived a life of humanity and achievement. He brought us delight and joy. His memory will be a blessing.

The other, Donald Trump, will be remembered as an embarrassment to our nation.

Speaking ill of the dead is controversial, particularly when it was a violent death. It’s edgy; it’s sensitive; best avoided in most cases, etc.

Baselessly making another person’s murder *about yourself,* and then approving of it, is a different thing. That is delusional, narcissistic, sociopathic.

Like any bully, Trump is fundamentally a coward. When he feels humiliated, he lashes out. Every authoritarian action he is taking must be understood against the backdrop of his declining popularity. He feigns strength, but he's operating from a place of weakness.

Use today to remember how incredible Rob Reiner was.

Not to repeat what we already know about Trump.
When I was a freshman in college, I was a reporter for the newspaper.

One assignment that year was to cover Ron Howard, screening the movie Parenthood and then talking about it w the audience afterward

So I watched the entire movie like everyone else, but since I was

Re: Donald Trump’s comments about Rob Reiner.

Rob Reiner was a compassionate human, a devotee of democracy, a necessary moral voice and a greatly gifted creative artist.

Donald Trump is a sick sociopath and a hateful person who dishonors the human race every time he opens his mouth.

feels like a pretty obvious layup for Democrats to say, "this is an egregiously disgusting statement, even for him, and it underlines that the President is undergoing significant physical and mental deterioration, and either he is lying about it or is not aware of it."

As we mourn Rob Reiner, don’t skip this: he was, pretty much, personally responsible for overturning California’s Prop 8 banning same sex marriage.

Tragic news about the loss of Rob and Michele Reiner. They were a source of light and good in movies, TV and public advocacy. Many happy memories of spending time with Rob and Michele, including during his many appearances on Bill Maher.

Trump talks a big game when it comes to supporting our troops, but in reality, he’s willing to eliminate nurses and doctors that help veterans every day. That’s pretty shameful.
Exclusive: The Department of Veterans Affairs will abruptly eliminate as many as 35,000 health care positions this month, mostly unfilled jobs.

The cuts come after a massive reorganization effort already resulted in the loss of almost 30,000 employees.

13 years – and yet every year since Sandy Hook, more parents join the growing cohort of families who grieve losing their child to a school shooting.

We can end this. Thoughts and prayers aren’t enough. The time for policy and action has been overdue for years.
Even after 13 years, the searing pain & grief remains real. At the Sandy Hook firehouse on that December 14, I saw loved ones learn that their 20 beautiful children & 6 great educators would never be coming home. We must honor them with action.
