I'm hoping to learn more about my ADHD and autism here

Apparently I'm supposed to do some sort of introduction, to tell you who I am on this site

The problem w/ that is I don't know who I am here yet

If this is like "the other site", then I'm #actuallyautistic, #adhd, and very liberal

But we'll see...

I told my boss three companies were after me and I needed a raise to stay at my job. We haggled for a few minutes, and he gave me a 5% raise.

Leaving his office, he stopped and asked me, "By the way, which companies are after you?" I responded, "The gas, electric, and cable company!!!"

When I had a violent stalker who would graphically describe how he would have me gang raped, puncture my organs and and break all my bones, I was told the police "couldn't do anything".

Consider this a reminder that they absolutely ✨can✨ do something.

They just don't care about YOU.

Writing tip: Write words in the order you intend them to be read, not in alphabetical order. 21st century readers don't have the attention span to assemble a story from its alphabetized words. These are no longer the days of Dick Moby, Heights Wuthering, and And Peace War.

The next time a kiddo has a tantrum or an adult has a meltdown, I'd like you to consider these words from MLK Jr:

"A riot is the language of the unheard."

What are they trying to tell you?
And what have you done to help them feel understood?

United Healthcare has been refusing to provide services such as speech therapy for autistic children, arguing that these are developmental rather than medical. Additionally, they are denying adults access to essential tools and services that could assist with communication skills.

FUN FACT: Measles, polio, diphtheria, mumps, rubella and tetanus are six once-common illnesses that vaccines have contained for decades, saving many millions of lives.

Look bringing back polio sounds bad. But it’s a small price to pay to get rid of pronouns in email signatures and black women in star wars.

I really feel like we don't talk enough about meltdowns. Personally they're the part about being autistic that I hate the most. I enjoy being autistic quite a lot but meltdowns I could do without lol

I know he’s only ten weeks old, but our baby is showing some pretty disturbing signs. Eye contact, advocating for his needs, etc. Could it be possible that he’s… neurotypical? 😳

And if so, is there some sort of vaccine that would make him autistic? #ActuallyAutistic

Please make sure you put something in your bio to tell people who you are! This is how we find each other!

Like and repost other's posts! This is how we build Bluesky!

And helps show you are not a bot!

Definitely seconding that people who don’t have or don’t understand chronic pain or disabilities need to shut up before they opine on what we can and cannot do, or what’s believable to them. If you saw me walking up a hill you’d think I was fine for anything. Now watch me try to walk down one.

Vaccines don't cause Autism and I'm honestly gobsmacked that we're even having this debate right now in history

This was nonsense literally 20 years ago, I thought that this was pretty much settled

and yet, here we are.
How do we know that autism is not linked to vaccines?

Short answer: Massive studies have not found a link between autism and vaccines.
