You want to understand people who vote for Trump: He’s Palpatine. They’re Darth Vader.
They know what Trump is. They know what he’s done to them and will do to them again. They don’t care.

PS You’re not Luke Skywalker. You don’t have to save any of them.

This is exactly what churches should be doing, calling out injustice.

📌 Lake Street Church Nativity: a bold social justice statement with ICE-like Roman soldiers, the Virgin Mary in a gas mask, baby Jesus zip-tied, Joseph on the ground, pushing viewers to think about immigration.

I do want to note three things that have happened in the wake of what ACIP is becoming to hopefully put some panicked nerves at ease.

1.) The American Association of Pediatrics is publishing their own schedule that matches the one before this goat rodeo.

One of the frustrating things about this entire discussion, is even if -everything- the anti-vaxxers were saying had some basis in reality (it doesn't, but for our purposes, imagine that the world is the insane place that they say it is) the balance of public health would still favor vaccination

European governments are not only failing people seeking protection, they’re also punishing those who try to fill that dangerous gap.

Public smoking bans just got in under the wire, too. Younger folks might not realize how rare they used to be and how hard they were to enact.
it is MIRACULOUS that we got rid of lead paint and asbestos when we did. if we had tried that today, there would be people whining about how we're restricting their rights.
Bring back residential-use lead paint, you cowards.

Said this a million times but the entire idea of having a judiciary made up of people who’ve never worked a real job in their lives (and law practice is the fakest of all fake jobs, more fake than even whatever Logan Paul does) is the foundational derangement of western society

#BREAKING: Over dissents from the three democratic appointees, #SCOTUS puts Texas's new House maps back into effect for (and, presumably, through) the 2026 midterms.

The three Democratic appointees, in an opinion by Justice Kagan, dissent.

I'll post the ruling shortly.

it is very, very important that the kind of institutionalists who would stand in the way of this absolutely get their shit rocked in the next two primary cycles
So this kind of thing is genuinely extremely useful for building public support for court reform.
You just have to look up Judge Jeffrey Brown’s resume and then wonder what it must be like for him to have the Roberts Court basically go, “You fool. You idiot.”

My employer, Dartmouth College, today boasts it's 1st Ivy "to launch AI at an institutional scale." It is doing this by partnering--"more than a collaboration"--with Anthropic, a company that stole the books of many faculty, me included, which many of us are suing.
